WOW! What a collection! You must have spent a lot of money buying the OEM ones though.....

Posted by: sonicc

Yes.... ooh

Posted by: parapara

WOW!... you actually have the white one!!!....
Where did you order all these?

Posted by: sonicc

I ordered the 6 opt covers fron LVwireless, 3 new limited color from www.expansys.com and the 8310 cover's (light and hot) my friend in UK bought 'em for me.

I have new OEM Light color cover + OEM white keypad for sale...

Posted by: CiCi

yea i want to know where i can get a OEM white one

Posted by: zerokarma

Too be honest I don't like most of the OEM faceplates for the 8390.

I have ordered an aftermarket one, I should be getting it soon.

It looks like this:

Yes it's on Ebay.

Except its not black/blue. It is Blue/Blue. What you think is black is actually dark blue, the picture isn't the greatest there. I'll see if I can take some pictures of it on my phone later today.

I think it looks pretty good, I am going to stick in a flashing battery later this week since the batter cover is translucent.

Posted by: icydragon_12

thanks.. where are you getting your flashing battery? daydeal? on daydeal it says if you buy a flashing battery for 8290 or 8260 it comes with a battery cover that's clear, what about the 8390?

Posted by: icydragon_12

does anyone know where I can get an 8310 glacier faceplate for my 8390? or does anyone know where I can get laser battery covers for my 8390? I live in edmonton, websites would be ok too thanks in advance

Posted by: zerokarma

I'm buying the flashing battery from my friend who owns a cell phone shop in downtown Toronto.

I believe the battery is see-thru with blue led's.

I'll be picking it up on Friday.

Once I get that I'll be taking some new pictures of my 8390.

can you tell us where you got the "seasonal" colors? or at least post closer pics of them?

Posted by: Player1

he already said he got them from exspansys.com

Posted by: skytrack

I also would like it if you could post some higher-res pictures of the new seasonal green face and the "new white". I now have a total of 5 OEM 8310/8390 faces and really am thinking about getting the "seasonal" colors too.

Thanks in advance...

Does the 8390 faceplates and stuff come off like the 3360 does?

Or it it more 8260 style.. gotta spend time unscrewing....

Posted by: aiwapro

Is this OEM? It says Nokia on it. It looks sweet.

Posted by: Player1

no that's not oem

alot of aftermarket faceplates say nokia on them.

Posted by: aiwapro

Ah man, I don't want it now. I already won it in an auction though. Anybody want to buy it? I won't be trying to make a profit, I'll refer you straight to the seller. It can be sent straight to you and everything. The price is $11.90 including shipping.

Posted by: zerokarma

I don't understand why people are so afraid of aftermarket face plates.

My aftermarket 8390 faceplates fits just as well as one of the oem Nokia ones. Sure I understand some aftermarket ones are made poorly however if you look around and do your homework you can find ones that are on par with the Nokia made ones.

anyone?

Posted by: Player1

8390 faceplates are express covers....
meaning u pop the batter cover off...then u can lift the front cover right off....

it's not like the 8260 that requires a torx 6 screwdriver to install.

Posted by: Player1

i can explain why people are afraid of aftermarket faceplates...
reason 1 - they suck
reason 2 - i don't think i even need anymore reasons

the end

Oh wow, how enlightening...... I see we have a great scholar here.

Posted by: Player1

well...the 8390 is a nice phone.....if u put a cheap aftermarket housing on it.....then all of a sudden....it looks and feels cheap.....

i mean....if there existed aftermarket casing that looks and feels nice.....then certainly u wouldn't have to be afraid of using it....

i do not know the quality of your aftermarket housing....so i can't comment on how nice it is....but aftermarket accessories have a reputation for being crappy and that's why people are afraid of them.

if u knew how to read in between lines i wouldn't have had to explain myself....but here's an explanation for the less educated.

Posted by: zerokarma

Maybe you need to read before you reply, if you did you would notice I acknowledged that a lot of them are poor quality but that doesn't mean all of them are. Some are on par with the genuine Nokia quality, you just need to look around.

And yes you should have posted the longer explanation, what is the point of posting a lame response like "because they just suck". Posting that was just a waste of time and space.

Posted by: Player1

well if u already knew...then why do u have to ask why people are so afraid of them? yes there are good quality ones.....but the chances of getting a good quality one off an ebay auction is next to impossible...

that's why aiwapro doesn't want it.....
people want products that are guaranteed to be of good quality...not just products that can possibly be of good quality...

if my reason is that because i think they suck...then i will voice my opinion....and that's just my thought...not yours....nothing for you to be all rude about kid.

Posted by: Player1

no hard feelings bud....ur right i didn't even read your whole post before i made mine....i shouldn't just say something sucks without backing it up....so my fault.

it doesn't take a scholar to make good points on a board though....so keep that in mind next time u say something like that.

Posted by: zerokarma

It's alright, I was just trying to get my point across and so were you.

Since I didn't want it to get into long argument I was just going to leave it be but since you posted that, thanks.

And yes you are right about that comment, I was just being sarcastic, sorry about that.

Posted by: Player1

yea i knew u just gave up on it....didn't wanna leave it with bad blood like that.....

*shakes zerokarma's hand*
