what is the most current firmware i can get for my t610?
i currently have R1S001

crap signal, slow java, etc, camera filees same size large as they are small

i see lots of versions on cellular-support, but am unsure which to get...
also, will it **** up my fone if i do it myself, or should i find a service provider (t-mobile WONT do it for me, and i live in california) to do it for me...
i hate this phone's ****** *** signal- someone's nokia 6610 has way better signal than mine!
i just put in a signal booster, but to no avail. i stuck it on the antenna
any way i can improve signal?

I'm a noob to this myself. I also have the R1S fw. As far as I understand, you need a terminator dongle and software to flash the fw. Anyone know if it's worth it for me to pay to flash my fw on my T610 from R1S to RC4.?

I'm in the same situation. Looking to upgrade my FW from R1S. Anyone in the Orlando area possibly able to do upgrades? How much is it for the terminator to do it myself?

The firmware wont help your reception.

You may bring or send your phone to Globalmob.com or Sony Ericsson to get an authorized firmware upgrade.

The latest T610 firmware for T-Mobile is now R1S. R4C was pulled by T-mobile (likely because of all the phones damaged by the terminator dongle).

what do you mean damaged by the terminator dongle? people used it and damaged the phone?

As far as I'm aware, the only way you'll f*** up your phone by Terminator dongle is when you don't follow the instructions properly. I've upgraded my T610 to R6B firmware and also few of my friends' T610 without any problem.

well, i'm a dead man now! please help me! i got the terminator, followed all the instructions to the point, and it died at 1% of the ARM file =\ error 3608! now the computer wont even recognize the terminator dongle, and the phone just keeps on resetting itself!

how do i fix this HORRID situation??

3608 can be caused by:
1. bad dongle (4066 switch doesn't work)
2. bad cable (ARM TX and RX are wrong connected)
3. ARM chip inside phone is not functioning.

It might be a fried chip in your phone. Restart your PC, the dongle should still work. try another phone if you can. that'll tell you if it's a bad phone or bad cable.
