Security on Panasonic gd87

Hello, my collegue has just given me a Panasonic GD87 phone which used to be on Vodafone contact sim. When I put my Vodafone sim card in the phone it accepts the pin code then after about 20 seconds it says "Security Failed" and then I cant do anything apart from turn the phone off. Would somebody please help????

Are you on pre-pay Vodaphone? I'm not sure, but it might be that the identifier used to lock the phones is different between contract and pre-pay SIM cards for Vodaphone. Try asking in your nearest Vodaphone store.

well if it says security failure or security failed it means its been blacklisted (been stolen and reported)

Not always. Mine said security faliure if I tried to use it with the wrong SIM.
