hi,

the first link seems to just upgrade a m55 to the fw11(no chinese input)

anyway, i tried to flashed that file to the m55 using V_Klay, but the phone become blank and cannot power on,
so i have to flash back my original backup firmware,

also, i tried the other firmware that i downloaded from other places...

other firmwares

but they all doesn't work, and i have to flash the m55 with the backup firmware..

using V_Klay 2.5, i tried to add some patches to the m55, but the phone blank after, so i to flash it with the backup firmware,

i am not sure if it's my specific problem or anyone actually tried it with success.. (M55->M55C & adding patches..)

by the way, i upgraded the m55 to fw10,

also, i tried to 'decompile' and 'extract' the language pack from the m55c firmware using Siemens Language Editor 1.4, but i can't find the correct configuration file(.ini) to decompile.. any of the m55 firmware from the link above (and the backup i have).
if the language pack from m55c can decompile out, then may try to compile that language pack back into the m55 firmware and flash it again....

another thing, does anyone know how to check is the m55 is locked to fido or not, cause i have tried to unlock the phone but i don't have another provider sim card to try it, and i can't the way to check on phone...(tried *#06#, but doesn't seems to find any info on unlock/lock)
can anyone tell me how to check?

anyway, that's my experience i have..

After you flash to M55C, did you flash back your original eeprom? You must flash back your eeprom otherwise the phone wont power on.

V11 is only for chinese version right now, that means there is not v11 for english, it's not released yet, so this is the chinese version and it does support simlified chinese, traditional chinese, and of course english.

I succesfully flashed my fido phone to chinese version and used many patches on this phone, it works great.

Hi, i didn't know i have to flash the original eeprom back in, i think i didn't read the instruction carefully enough, thanks for telling me that

i will try to flash the phone again tonight,

how about patches, do i have to re-flash with the original eeprom after i add the patches?

I can't find it anywhere....

Also, I tried to flash my phone with other phone's eprom and it won't turn on so I can't clear the call timer and can't use other ppl's Aerocheck removed eprom....

This is the patch for 50 seconds alert, it works but dont know whether it is exact 50 seconds or not, tired to count

Do you know how to turn on the timer I can see how much time I used at the end of each call?

hi...

i don't know why..i couldn't connect my M55 with the Vklay ...

after i open V-klay..chose phone, M55, Port Com1, band 1115200... then i was asked to click refresh...

there's a window pop up, saying
" connecting...short press or disconnect then connect the phone again, when it's off"....

so i short pressed the on/off power button ....

but there's no response to my M55 nor the pop up window....

what should i do????

please help...

turn off your phone before you connect to the cable.

if the M55 unlocker works it should work. If it doesn't, it doesn't... i dont' know what i m talking about...

i didn't unlock the phone myself...

this is the first time flashing a firmware..giving me a difficult time.

i have been trying to "short press" the phone when i see that message pop up.. for so many times....already...

but still couldn't get over this first step of flashing procedure...

would be greatly appreciate if someone can help me solve this problem..cuz i didnt notice other ppl have such problem...with connecting...

I know the mod here is clearing something he doesn't want it.

ok, use the unlocker for M55 and try to unlock the phone again, if it works ... then the vkay works.. if it is not.... then... v kay won't work.

did you try it before?

Unplug the cable from pc for 5 sec, then plug in again, or restart pc then try again.

Guess I made a huge mistake... I didn't turn off the phone before I connect the cable. -- Mistake #1

Mistake #2 -- when it says " connecting...short press or disconnect then connect the phone again, when it's off".... I tried to turn it off, and then cannot remember whether I pressed the power button long enough to turn it off or unplug the cable, the next thing I know is that I cannot turn it back on any more!

Please help!

Yes, I took out the battery and put it back in and I was able to turn it on. So I continue on with my adventure... and ... even worse!

Tried to flash to my M55 with the Chinese FW, did all that this URL specified (http://bible.younet.com/files/2004/01/12/93394.shtml), did the last step to flash back the bootcore and eeprom. Still didn't work.

The Worst thing is -- I tried to restore all there backup images I did before the FW upgrade, only to find that it cannot be restored any more! The phone can now only be accessed via the V_KLay program. Even when the Siemens upgrade utility asked to press the power button, I then press the power button, but the program cannot recognize it. (Guess V_KLay is much more powerful in this regard.)

So here I am, stuck with the phone cannot be turned on. Also tried again removing the battery and put it back in, still no good. :-(

Would really appreciate if someone can lend a hand. Thanks in advance!

When you flash back to your old firmware, remember to flash back the eeprom also.
