I'm basically looking for a palm that would allow either divx or wmv video playback with an expandable memory slot. Suggestions please?

anything that supports KINOMA player.....
shipped with most OS5.2.1 Palm products

Kinoma doesn't play those video formats natively. You need Kinoma Producer which you need to buy separately to convert the clips for Kinoma to read.

Yah this is so stupid...

You get Kinoma player for free, but it only plays kinoma movies which you wont have of course with out the Producer.

Is there another way around this.

To bad there is not a quicktime player for Palm handhelds.

AFAIK, there's no free player or converter to allow various movie files to be played on a Palm. The othe popular movie player, MMplayer, can play several different formats natively but isn't free.

Any Palm will do, just depends on how much screen real-estate you want. If you want a large screen, go with either the palmOne Tungsten|T3, the new Sony Clie TH55, the Sony Clie NX and UX Series, or the Tapwave Zodiac. If you want an average screen (320x320), go with any other palmOne model (except Zire and Zire 21), and any Sony OS5 model.

And, as do others, I suggest using MMPlayer instead of Kinoma.

Will the processor speed make a large difference on the video playback?
