My Siemens S40 has excellent audio quality similar to landline quality, and maintains a strong signal in elevators (CA). Useful basic PDA functions with a whopping address book capacity. Well-thought-of SMS enhancements. VERY fast HSCSD web browser which makes surfing easy and useful. Handy talk recorder (I managed 22 minutes). Good battery life, averaging about 210 hours with the backlight and signal doides on. Durable and solid construction. Smooth firmware. User-friendly menu system and PC synchronization. I have never been techno-savvy, and yet I find the Siemens S40 PC synchronization software (I have version 5.0) so easy to install and use. My only complaints: no original Siemens colored faceplates available on market and ringtones/graphics cannot be downloaded without risk. I strongly recommend to anyone the Siemens S40-- a PDA, audio recorder, internet/email appliance, mobile phone, (and fashion accessory) rolled into a tiny technologically-sound machine.

What do you mean without risk though? It is true you can't download graphics and ringtones, but I'm 99% sure there is a composer function that you can play around with. You can find ringtone converters such as Nok2phone on the net to get the keypresses

how big is the S40? the size of a 33XX series or size of 82XX series?

S40 is about halfway in between those phones in size...
about as tall as a 3390....but thinner....and lighter....i think it's a really nice size
