I purchased the data cable from Radio Shack for my vx4400 and when I try to add a ringtone midi file using bitpim it says "Failed to auto-detect port to use, I couldn't detect any candidate ports"

I would appreciate any help.

you probably need to install drivers for the USB cable. I believe I
got the same error you mentioned above until i actually loaded the driver.

you can get it free from future dial

I just bought the same cable from radioshack, and I downloaded the USB drivers from futuredial.com, but i can't install them? when i plug in my USB cable and plug the phone in, it pops up with an INstall Wizard, so i direct it to the folder with the drivers from futuredial and it says they wont work?? I have the VX4400, i can't seem to get the computer to see the phone..I have bitpim installed, and when i try to access the phone on either com1 or com2, it just says "LG-VX4400 on Com1: The Phone is Not Responding while in transitioning mode from none to brew"

Are there some different drivers i can download and install? I have Win2k, and it wont recognize the drivers from futuredial as the ones needed for the USB cable\phone...
