Inno 90 got it today!!!.. user review

Hi all, I just got my new Innostream Inno 90 phone today that I bought off ebay last week..... Heres my likes and dislikes so far after an hour of playing with it:
Price: $290 with shipping
Tri-band: 900/1800/1900 gsm
Carrier: At&t GSM
Likes:
1) Wow!! This is a nice phone, came nicely packed and with 2 batteries and a desktop battery charger so you can charge one battery while you use the other one. One battery seems like more of a heavy duty battery, it's a little thicker.
2) Its unlocked, it took about 1 minute after installing the sim card to register on the at&t network. It seems to have a great RF reception, it has kept all bars where usually my Mpx200 drops a bar or 2 around town.
3) Sound quality is excellent, I can hear the person on the other end with no problems..... I even have to turn down the phone on some people.
4) The main 262k display is beautiful, I cant really tell much difference from my Mpx200 65k display or the Panasonic GU87 though?
5) mMode set up was easy, it had the settings already in the phone, all I had to do was activate it and I can access all the mMode sites with a few exceptions (see below).
6) Camera is nice for a phone camera.. can take up to 640 x 480 resolution pics, can also take video clips.
7) Polyphonic tones are LOUD, the loudest I've heard so far on a phone and it actually comes with some cool ring tones pre-installed (Even dogs barking and other animal sounds).
8) Has a good speaker phone, real comparable to my old Nokia 7210
9) Yes, it has flip activated answer!!!
10) has a color outside display that can display pic caller id (if you take the picture with the phones camera).
11) has cool animated wallpaper, you can also set a picture as a wallpaper
12) I think it has 3mb of memory?
13) You can change color schemes as well as the keypad lighting colors
14) You can remove the operator logo and clock from the main LCD so you can see the whole screen (with the exception of the signal and battery icons at the top and the menu and phonebook lettering on the bottom).
15) I'm not a big cell phone game player, but this has 4 pretty nice games on it with good graphics and sound (I believe it is J2ME enabled for downloadable games, dont quote me on that though).

Dis-Likes:
1) Doesnt feel as sturdy as my Mpx200 or my GU87, feels a little toyish? Almost like the Motorola T720 after a little use, i think it will hold up though.
2) It is kind of picky as to which wap sites it will go to for some reason, I couldnt download some of my ringtones that I uploaded to a wap locker, I'll keep trying and let you know later if I can get it to download from these sites.
3) doesnt come with a data cable, so since I cant download any new ringtones to the phone right now, I'm stuck with the ones on the phone (which arent bad at all).
4) I'm not sure about battery life yet, but with all the graphics and sound going on, I'm sure it will end up on this side of things
5) No IR port or Blue tooth.
6) no expandable or removable storage option

Over all:
I'd give this phone an 8.5 out of 10 (due to lack of connectivity options)....... I wish I found this phone 6 months ago, it would have saved me going through many of the following phones (but not my Mpx200, I love that phone) --- Motorola T721, Panasonic GU87, Motorola V400, NEC525 in my opinion it is better than all these phones, but it doesnt have the At&t support, so if that is important to you, dont get this phone, but if you love gadget phones this is the phone to get. I think it is (in a lot of ways) very comparable to the Motorola V600, but without the connectivity. Later, telejas.........If you have questions about it, email me at randolphjason@hotmail.com and I'll do my best to answer them.

cool, sounds like a good phone. I just bought one on Ebay too, but for more $ than you paid. =)

Hopefully it gets here in a few days so I can start playing with it...if only it had 850, I could probably ditch my T616.

Hi - in case you have web access, can you try and access wap.ebay.de and see if a color ebay icon appears. I think about buying the phone but I am not sure how big the difference between Wap 2.0 (my E700) and Wap 1.2.1 (Inno 90) is. That would be really helpful!

Posted by: telejas

Big black EBAY letters, no color.... so it isnt as nice as wap 2.0. I personally like my Mpx the best since you can visit actual websites as well as wap sites.... You can see the pics on ebay... There is a browser you can download that will let you see real web pages, I cant think of the name of it, but I had it on my Siemens s55 and my wifes moto t721.

i just had a question about the durability of this phone. with normal use, will the phone last at least a year? if anyone has this phone in the SF Bay Area with AT&T Wireless, how's the reception?

Posted by: weiweiwei

are the menus laggy?

do u guys know how much memory is there for storage like for ring tones/pix/videos

Posted by: Funmap

The phone has 3 MB for storage and around 300 kb more when you delete the preloaded videos!

Posted by: weiweiwei

when making a video clip, how much memory does that take up?

Posted by: Funmap

It depends on the length and quality: in generel between 100-150kb!

My store sells em for $100 with $50 rebate, we are out of $100 barcodes =(

Phone is great! Just had one delivered to my store and I already ordered 1 for myself. It had decent specs on phonescoop, but man, it's great when I played around with it.

My main problem with that phone is that if you dial a number REAL fast, it skips digits, where my Samsung A620 never done that. And it's general response time to keypresses..

Also not sure if it has Voice Activation, and Speakerphone is pretty much unusable. Can barely hear it indoors and you can forget about it outside or in a car.

mine doesn't skip

Posted by: Kricket

mine does - thats probably my biggest beef with the phone

i text message a lot - and the key lag is a big problem for me - i guess i just have to get used to slowing down...

Posted by: 645Ci

I ordered mine for USD365.00 (w/ data cable) on Valentine's Day...

The phone is great overall... but the screen is NOT as sharp as GX22...

did you expect it to be? No phone can beat the sharp because of its CG silicon
