Okay, I broke down and ordered a cable for my 6000 and was wondering something. I love the phone for its loud speaker, and especially for how loud the default ringers are, but I bought my first ringer from GIN last night and it was loud, but not super loud..(which i knew it wouldnt be as loud as the default ones)

What I was wondering was how are or how is the quality of the mp3s you put up in terms of loudness compared to the normal ringers...I could think of some cool mp3s but would hope that they would still be at a decent volume...or are they soft because having it too loud would distort the voice? I have absolutely no idea since my previous phone was an old LG 5350, so thanks for the help

But I am looking forward to the cable for other things too I guess, I have this pic up of my fieance now and would like that Verizon banner out of the way And not having to spent .25 every time I send a pic, since I have to adjust the levels and such with photoshop before I send to phone becasue pics dont look the same one phone screen as PC screen... btw this last paragraph was pointless, i appologize

I have the cable and i have downloaded numerous Mp3's to my phone that i have cut down to size, between 35 and 45 seconds and i have to say that i am really impressed with "some" of them.....especially hip hop mp3's.

Hard Rock mp3's tend to be so hard and beats tend to be meshed together that it sounds pretty garbled coming out of the little speaker of the VX6000. Hip Hop mp3's tend to have beats that are firm and flush so they come out really well on the phone. Now, as far as loudness goes.....when you setup SoundForge 7.0 (link to setup soundforge is below) to cut your mp3's down to the size you want them as.......you have to select "PROCESS" on the toolbar at the top and go down to "VOLUME". Then increase as desired. This should raise the frequency of the mp3 to the desired level without distorting the sound.

Hope this helps.

Here is the link to the forum post that has the directions to download mp3's:
