HELP! Can't Data Transfer S56

Man talk about frustration.
I've had my Siemens S56 for about 2 months now and still have not been about to transfer files (mmf, bmp, mid, etc) to it. I'm using Siemens Data Suite Ver. 1.0.0.76
Here's the deal. I can get the phone to sync with outlook fine (XTNDConnectPC).
Hence the connection is fine using USB cable. Just Siemens Data Suite gives me grief when trying to use the Ringtone Editor, Bitmap Editor, or Data Exchange Software. Both the Ringtone Editor and the Bitmap Editor can not ReadOut or upload. The Data Exchange Software just says "There is no connection. Reconnect to the mobile telephone and try again."
I've even phoned Siemens and they told me "..we don't support the ringtone and bitmap editor. we only support syncing with outlook." So much for customer service.
Anyway... If anyone can help at all I would be forever indebted.
Shoot me an email or reply to this thread.
Thanks
Dan

Not gonna happen, check my post about the SL56, same thing as with S56
No support for either phone for data cable transfer.

I don't have a data cable, but mine receives files (I've done .jpg, .gif, .mid but not .mmf) without any problem using IR. All I have to do is right click the file and tell it to "send to a nearby computer", which is how XP views the S56.
FWIW, If it's worth it to you to end the frustration, you might want to look into a IR adapter to send from your PC.
Hope this helps.

This site should help you with your s56 problem. Thanks to tabernac. You should be able to send files from your s56 to any other phone or computer via Irda same goes from computer to phone.

I have never had any problems doing transfer over IRda or Bluetooth. Why not choose BT, it is a lot easier to take a small BT adapter with you on trips or wherever than it is to pack around a cable. Unless you are unlocking the phone why not use a wireless connection?

I read this on another forum and it works great. The only catch is that you your files have to be less than 5.5k
Make sure that you can synch with outlook using synch software.
Now, go to synch "xtnd connect"=> settings=>data sources=> outlook email=>change data source=>
make sure that send attachements are selected and there are no limits on attachement size, under folder selection change it to drafts.
now, go to outlook and create a new email with nothing in it exept for the file you want to transfer as an attachement
now synch
go to emails in your phone and copy attachement to mydata
done
with a good gif optimiser it is easy to get gifs less than 5kb if they are 108 by 80 pixels(phone resolution)
most midi tones are less than 5.5 kb so you are fine here too
