Does anyone know how to get a "normal" telephone ringtone for an S56"

What do you mean - Sony Ericsson's "Old Phone" ringtone?
And have you been able to download ringtones like brrriinnggg
that sound as loud when the phone is ringing that it does when you play it once you have saved it?
My 3 friends all have the S56 and have been unable to download a midi normal telephone sound ringtone that is audible when the phone is called.
If you can assist, it is much appreciated..

Sony Ericsson has a ringtone called "Old Phone" which sounds like an old phone.

Just do a search on the forums here or Google.

I added it as an attachment to a message.

And it is loud.

Thanks lega. I was able to download the ringtone from the siemens site to my computer, and upload to a wap site called tagtag.com.
However, when downloading to my phone, the phone complained that 18kb was too large. The phone has a gig of memory..I even cleaned up my .dat files...
Still had almose 1/2 gig left.
As soon as I can figure out the problem with the download to the phone, it should be good.

Go to the german s55 page at my-siemens.com. The page is displayable in english as well as german.

Under "downloads"; then "ringtones and games" there is a free file with 8 midi ringtones - conservative ones for those who don't want a song.

This file is displayed for the german S55 page users. Us americans are supposed to pay for ringtones - I guess!

Cool, thanks. Muuuuch better. There are simply times when a musical ringtone won't do (like at work, etc.).
