Im interested in flashing my phone adding new themes to it etc and also unlocking it. Its a GD87e.

Ive got the Panasonic Code Reader pan_67_87.exe. Ive followed the instructions to the letter but i just keep getting a timeout message from the software...any ideas?

Also ive been trying to get CB2000 to communicate with my phone. Ive covered pins 4 and 10 on my phone as stated in some doc i read, but the software will not communicate with the phone, Its version 1.343, i hear the 1.3 versions are a bit buggy? Any one got a link to a 1.4 version?

Panasonic Code Reader pan_67_87.exe only works on COM1 for starters.
CB2000:
make sure that the phone is turned off and that you selected gd87 from model.
also when turned off press the on/off button on your phone when connecting. should come up with a white screen with red writing, also the keypad always lights up.

The version of Pan reader has the option to select different com ports, but u say that it only works on com1?

OK, i changed the port of my data cable to com1 and tried pana thingy again and still no joy. One thing, do i need to cover pins 4 an 10 to unlock the phone or not, i cant find any info on it anywhere so i just assumed not.

depends on the cable. Worse case is that you cover them and do not really need to, but if you have a regular data cable instead of a service cable then you do need to cover them. If in doubt cover them.....will not hurt anything.

On scouring the forum, it seems Ive goto download to the A39 firmware for the cracker to work, which i didnt realise.
Im not too botherd about doing this, but i just wanna get CB2000 to talk to my phone first, ive followed instructins for that to the letter but it dont seem to wanna work. Has anyone got a step by step basic n00bs guide? Im using a standard usb to com port datacable and having to cover over pins 4 and 10 btw.

For the unlocker, you need to downgrade to A22, not A39. For CB2000 , any port will do. Just connect your phone, chose the com port, and the model of the phone, make sure it is off, and then press "Handset power" in cb2000, and immediately turn on your mobile. The scree on phone will turn blank with red text on it. You are on the right way then...

p.s.

Sorry, I just realized it has been said here already. Anyways, yes, dont forget to cover the pins.

Right thanks for you help guys, gonna give it a try today.
PS can anyone advise any cool moded firmwares to try out? Ive seen the matrix one and a couple of others, just wonderd if there were any REALLY good ones that stood out? Anyone know if there is a Linux one about?
