Just wonderin what rides some of you out there are driving and what's the fastest ride u've driven...by driven i mean that u sat in driver seat and moved the automobile by ureself...so passenger seat don't count lol :P

That would have to be my 1990 Infiniti Q45. 120 MPH

I driven that it was ok, I preferred the Carrera 2 though.... Also took a top speed run in a 911 Turbo, I hit 186 mph, but the car started to feel a little 'floaty' at 180mph... but by for, for fun factor and comfort was the 2 seater MB SL600!! never got that fast in it, more or less just cruised, but the power off the line was just unbelievable!

2003 BMW M3,my dream car, three of my buddies in DUBAI,UAE (Middle east) own them,SILVER/BLACK/WHITE...........sweeeeet ridezzz

1970 Buick GS.

By far the scariest car I've ever been in.

The tires don't even squeal as they desintegrate, so all you have to go on is the loose feeling out back.

Hahahah! No, seriously, the first fastest I drove was my Integra (read other post) and the second would be my old boss's Ferrari F355 Spyder. I would have had the chance to drive his Diablo (which he already wrapped around a telephone pole) but I couldn't start the car...damn clutch was too stiff!

I think another memorable one would be my friend's dad's 409...damn that thing is twitchy but it fook off pretty damn fast! His speedo wasn't working so I don't know how fast but it sounded hella loud and it felt hella fast...

Posted by: Mr_Ed

Test drove a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo. Sweet ride. That twin-turbo powerplant is a MONSTER! You can put your foot down and just GO without worrying too much about what gear you are in. A little too rich for me at the time I picked up a 2003 Carrera 4S instead. Very happy with it

Posted by: seanski

well i work at a chevy dealership so i drive cars all day, ive drivin my fair share of corvettes camaros and a siverado SS, subaru svx, hmmm what else lol basically if its a newer fast GM car ive driven it lots of GTPs and GAGT's as well

there's a couple actually... Lorenzo (WUT?_S2K) is on here as well... on here he's s2000guy or something...

Anyways, back on topic, the most powerful car I ever drove was a '60's GTO Judge... I was fairly built up, but it wasnt the fastest... It was built purely for acceleration, not top speed. Gearing and dif were geared waaaayy too high... but It was a blast driving it, it was even a four speed (with a racing transmission), but I think it would have been better with an auto rather then a manual, it was just too much power to control the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts!

Posted by: [bisheadking]

mb s500

Posted by: xdc_888

that's okay...lol fastest car i've driven was an SLK32 AMG...
its a quick lil bugger

Posted by: maverick69can

By far the most memorable anyway would be '04 SL55 by MB, crazy torque in any gear at any rpm, and turn off the traction control and cut donuts all day!

Posted by: Safooma

About 10 years ago, my dad had a 1970 El Camino with a very built 350 in it, that with the 4.11s in it could run in the low to mid 12s. I drove it to the coast(about 150 mile round trip) when it had 2.73s for gears, so it wasn't as quick, but had a top end that was pretty much unattainable. It would pull 100+ in second gear. Scarry fast.

Where are you guys finding these cars to drive? I haven't driven anything except our own cars, none of which are fast.

Man, I've driven so few cars I can list them off the top of my head.

Posted by: nxt

My friend's Dad's: 1998 Viper GTS, 1999 MB SL500, 2000 MB S500, S55 and S600.

that SL500 is so sweet, btw, I crashed it!

My friend was taking his other friend home and I and him were going to go to the movies, and he made me drive (I wasn't going to refuse... it wasn't my first time driving the SL).
BTW the 3rd friend was sitting in the back (there's no seats) and we told him about the roll bar on the SL. the car will know if it'll flip and the roll bar will pop up in under .X seconds....

Anyways we nearly reach his house and there's this tight right curvy turn and they urged me on to haul ××× on it... well I did it... It was dark, 7pmish, i didn't see any incoming lights so i gunned it... was making the turn and.... HEADLIGHTS!!!!!! WHAM.. boom.. SCCCCRRREEEACCCHHH.

Head on collision with tiny little ford escort. ×××× it sucked. My friend sitting on the back ducked down in time before the roll bar popped up (or else his head woulda been off heh...)

For how long? Did everything on the side of the road become 100% blurry in your peripheral vision? Did the car feel like it would be able to continue and hold up with that kinda speed?
Also, where were you able to do this kinda speed, or better yet-wheres a good place to do speed in upwards of 100 mph?

I've hit (an indicated) 186mph in a 911 turbo..... eventually I did get that tunnelling effect. I did it on Hwy 40 about 2 yrs back, it wasnt smart to do, but hey.... i had the car, and there was absolutely NO ONE on the road around 4 am during the week. But at that speed the car felt 'floaty' .... didnt have that same stick to the road feeling.

Posted by: mikeman075

The most powerful car i've ever driven was a 2002 Infiniti Q45 with 340 horsepower. Honerable mentions include a Volvo S80 T6 and a Ford Mustang GT 5.0
The fastest I've ever driven was back in high school in my '87 Acura Integra. I was on the Tappen Zee bridge in NY about 2AM and got it up to 112MPH. It felt pretty stable at that speed.
My '93 Maxima would feel great at 100+ but I haven't gotten up there, and to be honest I don't plan to either. Knowing my luck some old guy in a Buick or Lexus ES330 would veer into my lane killling us both . I live in SO. Florida so that scenario is very much a good possibilty.

1995 Pontiac Trans Am convertible, 3.73's, full custom Flowmaster exhaust, no cat, Edelbrock headers, custom cold air intake. Top down, east bound I96 towards Detroit, speedo hit 155+, figure about 135-140 tops actual speed. Only hit it for about 10 seconds, then had to back off.

Posted by: DannyBoy413

wow nice ride peoples..umm..no one I know has a fast car..just regular hondas and fords..except for my cousins Trans Am..and I won't even bother asking because the answer is an automatic NO.

I think i'll stick to my 1/2 horsepower Focus. Oh, my Prelude was sweeet.

Hang on now, nothing wrong with an automatic tranny Trans Am, that is what I had in the previous post. And....nothing wrong with a Focus, that is what I have now. Nowhere near the power, but still a very cool car. I have an SVT, so it has decent power, great options, and is a blast to drive.

Don't you have to put down a deposit or some BS if you try to test drive something like that at a dealership?
Anyways, I think the fastest car I have drive would be my dads Porsche 911 t.t .

Mike, the Tapan Zee bridge probably is a good to place to floor it, especially if its very early in the morning (like 1-5 am). But when you get up to the masts, you gotta be careful cause of this. Probably not a big deal though as if you look at the camera at night time, theres not as many vehicles on the road as the are during the day (yes the barrier in the middle can be moved over so that one day, one side gets 4 lanes and the other side gets 3 lanes).

A 1998 BMW 540 Hartge. Not new nor very expensive but a valued car that is as fast as a regular M5. I´m still very jealous of my friend who owns that car. With a modified chip it was doing about 270 km/h.

i think we got to 160.

yea it was awesome.. but i think he's a lil dumb. He said that he had a normal '95 mustang. He made it convertible, he painted it, he upgraded the horsepower, changed the suspension, and alot of other stuff im not sure of. He said the car is worth 85k now.

he had a radar detector and a jammer, so we went speeding like hell through the city

i've seen a saleen always see it at coffee shops...never got to ride in one tho...
on another note, saw a shelby cobra today!!! anyone ever ride in one of those things? *drools*

My friend Tim has a MINT white 95 Saleen S351 (N/A not s/c) stroked to 383, I can't even remember all of his mods, but the engine is SICK.. he's putting a little over 450 rwhp iirc... in fact he may be on the web, he's part of the Norcal Ford/Mustang club...

eibowow3650, yea your friend sounds dumb... my friend's 95 s351 is worth about $35-40k max... and it sounds a little bit better than your friend's.. mods/convertible conversion etc isn't going to increase value. Well, neither will engine mods usually, but this is a built-up low low mileage chassis/engine car.

Posted by: micro214_kp61

my "stock" 1996 honda civic hatch (EK4). i got it up to 185 km/h. but don't ask me how long it took me to get it that high, hahahaha.

Wow you're lucky.

My cousin's uncle is authorized by Lanborghini to work on their cars, they even sent him to Italy to work on these things. I havn't met him personally, but I would like to. I want to go for a ride in one.

Toss up, a 1971 Buick GS 455 stage 2, a 79 Ford Fairmont sporting a blown 427, a 72 Hurst Olds 442 W30 4 speed and a 87 moderately modified GNX. It was definately THE fastest as it is capable of a high 8 1/4 mile, but not being my car and not having experience with that kind of rediculous power I barely goosed it. That being the fastest goose I ever experienced....

Yeah, if you've ever gone 160 mph in a car, you're lucky...but if you've ever been 160 mph in a v12 lamborghini, you know what it's like to dam/\/ near ***** yourself!

I used to be a valet in the Beverly Hills area and such so I have driven a lot of nice cars. I've driven all of the MBZs (SL55, S55, CL55, etc.), all the Beemers (M3, M5, Z8, etc.), all Lexus (IS, SC, GS, etc.), Hummers (Both H1 and H2), Rolls, Bentleys, Morgan, Maseratis (New and old), Aston Martins (Vantage, DB7), NSX, Lotus, Corvettes, Audis (Including S4), Caddys (Escalades, EXT, etc.), Lincoln (Navi's, that truck which I think is called Blackwood or something like that, etc.), Ferrari 355, 360, and that 550 I think it is, and plenty others.
The only cars that I never drove that I wanted to was a Viper and a Lambo. Yeah, being a valet has its perks.

The company that I worked for didn't just work at certain restaurants, it was mostly a private party deal. Organizations, clubs, celebrities, and rich people would call up and hire us.
And about the powerbraking thing... let's just say that after having been a valet and having seen what goes on, I never valet my car. I will park out on the street if I have to (It's only a Civic). It always amazed me to see how easily these people handed the keys to their $100,000+ cars to a valet.

I work for a casino, I did work for this one company for a bit. Valley valet, it was quite fun with those guys, no one ever filled out an APP it was just friends hiring friends. So, it was kinda like getting paid to hang out and park a few cars. I agree about valet parking your car, unless you know the guys. Whats even funnier is that customers cuss you out because you are taking to long, yet still let you park there cars! What the hell are they thinking? you intrust me with your car, after you cuss me out? All I think about is 180 e-brake while parking there car in a spot.

Posted by: gundam83

Probably the fastest cars i've drive would have to buy a modded 03 Corvette Z06. Wich is blast in straight out accelleration as well as in the twisties. Oh and my bucket ××× civic is fun to drive as well. A nicely built and boosted b20b in a little hatch that does low 12's in the 1320 is fun also.

Its funny how everyone's dad's friends or their boss's own a ferrari or a MB SL55 or such.

its just too funny, fastest car i ever driven was a nissan 350Z, test drove an M3 downtown and once sat in an SL55 in the showroom.

And after all this, i love my beloved Acura RSX type-S.

It's funny, with me, the more expensive my car would be the less I'd want to take it to a valet. I don't have to worry, there's so few places in Vancouver that have valet... there's valets everywhere in LA, even some shopping malls have them.

Has anyone here gotten to see the new Lamborghini Gallardo in person or ride in one?

This is the car I wouldn't mind having myself:
SLK-230 Kompressor

fastest i've ever driven a car? 180mph in my friends' dad's dodge viper.

that's a fast ××××in car.

fastest i've ever driven my own car? 146mph in my Saab 9-3 Viggen with the speed limiter removed

Posted by: Koofteh

We have a 230, it's a cool car. It's not fast or anything, but it's fun to drive mainly because it's a convertible. It has very few kilometres on it too, like 11,000 since March 1999. Do you want it?

I have seen it in person too, I was just wondering if anyone has taken a ride in one. I agree with you, it is beautiful. I got a picture of it but my flash screwed up the picture so it's very dark and since the car was black you can barely see it.

Where I got the picture of the Gallardo, I also got to see the 40th Anniversary Murcielago, AFAIK it's the same as the regular just has a one of a kind paint job, one out of only 14 made in the WORLD.
