hey well this is the fourth and final time i writtin this due to my browser. Well u can send a animation(gif) to ur Audi 8900 without using a datacable. Yep i said it and u can save it make it ur power on/off and screensaver...Yes u sure can i got the file from a forum and its a user icon (Luffy) i was just got it to see if i could use it for my phone. well shore enough u can.. so here the specs its 100x100 105kb and i used yahoo mail to send it and after i got it i viewed it and saved it i didnt even have to change the name. Then i made it the power on/off and screensaver. It worked fine u will see a slight lagg on the screensaver but thats no biggie and on the power on u will see the verizon logo for a second just as waruwaru stated when using the data cable. Other than that its kewl. I havnt noticed any problems wth it . If ur nice with the whole icon making thing so u can put ur name in it and stuff and make it hot then holla back. Cause i have no idea on how to do any of that. And hopefully this helped everyone who wanted gifs on there phone. And if u have anytrouble then ill gladly try to help just drop me a line at SupaSammy6969@yahoo.com.
Good Luck !!

Btw:::: Has anyone have had anyproblem with gettin pix messages ?? Cause when i try to look at a new or old pix msg and i Click the OK button then it will come up blank But when i Hold the OK button it comes up just fine.. And I also get data calls when im using free wap??.. Any suggestions on wat to do ??

See page 3/4 of this thread for other details. And here is an example from Jivemastert. Basically, an animated GIF, 128 width by 145 height for regular background animations. For Power on/off, it's a bit taller, so we are thinking 128x160ish.

well i messed around with it for a little while and made a gif with a program called Ulead Gif animator which was really easy to use btw. And i sent a 128x145 and i wasnt able to save it. But i then sent it for 125x125 and it came out pretty well but i noticed when i sent it 128x145 it went alot smother. So im gonna speed it up and see wat happens ..

100x100 is soo small! just make your animations short and sweet, minimal compression, and bring the res up.

hey jive wat program do u use cause i dont see an option for compression and i dont even get them right it just flashes and the second pic i do is all messed up. I dunno how to make those good ones like some of u guys do. if u could just point me in the right direction. It may help out other people who dont understand.

if this is true then this is great news...
can anyone else conferm that this will work, without the datacable? Once saved can u use the files as power on, off, and screensavers?

PS... im going to have to stop reading all these threads or ill have to buy that unlimited pix messaging.

Yes, it does work but the power off/on animations don't do much for me as they're pretty fast and then gone. The animated wallpaper is the best part for me.

As far as I know animated gifs are not working WITH the datacable atm.

Just gotta find a way to change the sub-screen animations and that yellow time box.

3 questions.

1: why using yahoo mail. cant it be done through vzwpix.com?
2: what do you put in the "To" section. Just your phonenumber?
3: how do you save .gifs from inet and (animeted ones) send to yourself? I tried saving few, but all it does just shows one still picture

i have the same problem with the still image, but i noticed my gif was saved under images, not animations. does that matter? and if so, how do i move them over?

Here i will try to answer ur questions
1: I use yahoo cause they let u send larger files and i kinda like it better than vzwpix cause i dont have to login everytime i wanna send stuff. And yes it can be done with vzwpix.com but it cant send files as large and i gotta sign in everytime.

2: In the "To" section i put mycellnumber@vzwpix.com and then in no time u will see the little envelope icon with ur gif u sent.

3: The way u save gifs from the internet are just right clicking them and then saving them on ur harddrive somewhere (I use my desktop) and then u just send them from vzwpix.com or mail.yahoo.com yea if it is too big or has too many slides it will just stand still and not move at all so u have to make sure its not too big and have too many slides casue it will not move at all. And when workin they will even act a lil slow.

Hope this helped
