I'm in search of a Sanyo 6000 to replace my 4000. I was wondering if a canadian phone would work on the Sprint PCS network...if I were to have the luck of finding one. I've noticed that most if not all of the 6000 owners in this forum are Canadian, and it seems as though the 6000 is more available in Canada. Let me know

A Canadian handset WILL work on Sprint PCS, allbeit if the handset is unlocked. You need the service provider code to unlock it if the handset is locked.

sprint will not activate any phone that they do not carry .. just remember that

wow! didn't expect a reply so soon...thanks!
i assume that part of activating the phone requires entering the service provider code..i vaguely recall something about that in a previous thread.
sprint does carry the 6000, they're just out...and so is every store that i've called..

sprint does carry the scp 6000, i am here in chicago and i have the sanyo 6000 on sprint, stores just won't have them in stock until august 25th at the earliest.
