hey yall
so i have read all of the specs on how all of these people have sent their 6000 mp3 ringtones.
I am having trouble here!
I am using the datacable...I can send the file back and forth...but i don't hear any of the new sounds. and i even hear the speaker on the phone click and give off some type of hiss noise. so maybe i am missing something small! i can get people's midi files to work...but not my mp3 file that was renamed to a mid extention...so i know i am doing something propler!
you guys have any help? does it also work with the 4400, not jus the 6000?
can i please get specific info as to how to do this on my 4400?
I noticed that we don't have a function to delete all of our music files like they do on the 6000, so i am a bit confused. do we have to delete all of our music somehow too?
thanks a ton!

I have the 4400b and have had the same results as you. I am also thinking that the 4400 doesn't support mp3 files.
What a drag.

Neither of the VX4400's will support a .mp3. Something to do with the speaker, it isn't allowed to reproduce the sound.

4400's do not support mp3 files but there is a work around. I have done it and it works. Shorten your mp3 to about 30 seconds or so. Convert to mono and make the bite rate 16kbps and the sample rate 16000. Say your file name is "song.mp3", rename it to "song.mp3.mid" Upload using bitpim and enjoy!
