flash cable off ebay not working?

Hey all, I bought one of

these

off ebay, it says it's an unlock/flash cable

I plugged it into my com 1 (i only have 2 com thingies) restarted my comp, loaded up crack2d, it says "power on phone", so I did, but then it goes "timed out"?!?

edit: OK, it seems as though I have to pull the cable out a tad so that it doesnt 'click' into my phone for it to work. Basically a simple nudge will dislodge the connection.

I tried it and crack2d worked, but I don't want to do this when I'm flashing!

Any ideas?

man that sucks. i have the same exact cable and dont have any problems with mine. could be a faulty cable and definately dont want it acting like that when you flash your phone.
