Quick question, using this software can you download/send ringers, images etc with the phone?

I have exactly the same question. I am expecting my new WM 4500 to be delivered next week and I don't want to go on vision and pay every month.

I heard that SyncMedia or something like that is good for a pictures and ringtones and works both ways. Other software is to synchronize your phonebook etc.

Listen, if you figure it our, please let me know. Some time next week I go to Radio Shack and I'll ask. If it works for me I will tell you exactly which one I bought so you'll can buy it as well. Good Luck!

I know it sucks to pay $30 for a simple software. As far as I am concerned we don't have any other choice. You can downlowad it at Kazaa but that is the old version (1.0) and WM 4500 wont work on it. You need to have snapMedia 1.22 to have it work.
Anyway, you get to buy a connecting cable which at radioshack costs around $22.00. at the http://www.eforcity.com/scp-5500.html
you find it for less- around 10 dollars.
If you find a way with the snapMedia please let me know.

Radioshack - buy snapsync/snapdialer (by futuredial) for $40+tax and get usb cable free. Also, with snapmedia (by FD) about $31+tax you can now not only upload ringers, pics, etc. to phone, but for VM4500's (and only few other selected phones) you can also now download pics taken w/ phone's camera directly onto PC . I have used snapsync and snapdialer with 5300 and now VM4500. However, FD will need to send me an updated snapmedia - apparently FD states the version I purchased does not work with the VM4500 (I have the update USB driver(s), just the snapmedia version I got needs replacing).

The 5500 (Sprint PCS VM4500) supposedly has To Do list. Will SnapSync transfer those from Outlook?

$30 for the cable, $30 for SnapSync, $30 for SnapMedia (I don't see much use for SnapDial) ... this phone gets even more expensive!

This 2-year old Sprint press release http://www3.sprint.com/PR/CDA/PR_CD...81,5420,00.html claims

"future Sprint PCS Phones will have syncing software provided via a web page download along with subsequent software releases.

The Sprint PCS Contact Synchronization Software requires a cable that is part of the Sprint PCS Wireless WebTM Connection Kit. These kits are available at www.sprintpcs.com or at Sprint Stores nationwide for $59.99."

This was a joint press release with FutureDial. But I don't see it on the Sprint site, the Sprint store employee said to go to Best Buy, and Best Buy employee said they are discontinuing the FutureDial cables and software. Sounds like you have to go to FutureDial. A $500 PDA phone starts to look cheap...
