It's kinda hard to get a high-rev'in engine to sound good...even the NSX's don't sound that good...all you get is really loud-soundin' whining noises...

But, sometimes you can get it to sound much better with a deep-sounding exhaust...sorta to mask the sound of the whining...^_^

A BMW inline 6 sounds really nice.

It's got a really refined tone no other cars have.

Porsche engines also sound amazing.

On that note, an F355 sounds a lot better than anything else I've ever heard...I think it sounds better on the inside, though, than on the outside...^_^

I haven't heard many Porsche's under WOT but I have to admit, the Gemballa ones are real throaty-sounding...

So very true...oh so painfully true...^_^ No matter how much I spend on my Integra, when it's parked in my garage, it's still an Integra...but, I guess it gives me great pleasure in knowing that I spent my time and energy in something I like...so, that, in essence, makes it worth it...I gotta enjoy what I have, right? I have to agree with you PreFknLude_SiR, the Z sounds good and so does though G35. Their sound is somewhat like the Skylines which I love

well, u can say that about any car under $30k. (or insert your price tag that you feel is respectable).

just like upgrading/modding your pc. "its only a xxx, just buy a new pc"

ppl mod for personality/performance and most ppl aren't rich so there isn't a lot of 30k+ cars that are modded. (compared to the 30k and under crowd)

as for high-revvers, an integra type r or acura nsx are two examples of great sounding honda cars......

the z06 competes very well stock with other cars with the same hp.

i think some euro cars are overpriced. too much fluff.

I have to agree with Edwinx on this. Looks on a car are opinions, its hard to argue them. And I have always thought the Corvette was worth its value. Even motor Trend thinks so, I can't remember which issue, but they compared it to the Z and a couple other cars. Value wise, the Corvette got a 10 out of 10.

1: Obviously your '69 Chevelle is full of Fake HP, a 1969 chevelle wasnt equipped with a 454ci/485hp, it would have came with a 396ci/325hp, or a 396ci/360hp.

2: Since when did Chevrolet make 485hp stock 454, it must have some "fake HP" add ons.

I think he meant "fake" because it's not permanent gains...it only lasts as long as you got "NOZ" in the bottle...

1-2 at best by itself but it sure does gain a lot more if you have other things put on (like exhaust manifolds). Anyways, I was at DVC a few days ago and I heard this loud "wwaaaaahhhhhh" kinda noise like the car was about to zoom passed me at 200mph...but low and behold, what did I see? This little Neon with a butt-huge tip...and he must have been in 1st gear cuz he wasn't moving at all...man, all that noise and he's going nowhere fast.

When will people get it through their thick skulls that noise doesn't equal power? I can't stand people with these trumpet-type exhausts and it just sounds nasty. What sounds good, to me, is a deep rumble...not throaty, but just like a deep growl...

I got a freind of mine that bought a 02 RSX typeS ... he spent every dollar to mod his ride ... its now 2004 .. I've estimated that he has spent over about $23,000 on his friggin car .... and at the end what happens ... he's compalining about the ride comfort .. he's afriad of drive it out to the mall or take it out at night cause he scared that it is gonna get JACKED ... and wrost of all .. he still couldn't out run my friggin S4 Wagon that has stock wheels, mod exhaust, CHipped, and AUto Tranny ...

And why did he do all thing ××××× to his car .. ??

I have to admit, it is quite fun modding your car bit by bit. But there are limitations. I do respect clean and tuner honda's.. but not those riceboys with fake HID, huge spoilers, fart cans and slammed to the ground.

I am not rich, my mom, ya, she drives a 2001 corolla, my dad, HUGE EXPENSIVE LUXURY VEHICLE, A 1991 Honda Accord EX-R Station Wagon WOO. I'm not rich at all i just work my ××× off to get my cars. I would just like to make a Public Apology on behalf of my little brother. I was out of the country and he went onto this forums because i forget to sign out. I will try to correct his blunders.

1) All the cars he stated i do own
2) The Trans Am has 385Hp i believe not quite sure
3) THE CHEVELLE- ONLY has 365HP definiately not 485 or whatever he said.
4) The Chevelle does have a 454 in it and says CHEVROLET stamped to the block not CHEVELLE that was a mistake on my part.

So I am truly sorry about this mix up boys!!

Well what WRX sounds correct, every car has driveline loss and you will see it the most in AWD cars. What I think jdm0802 is asking is if Nissan "fudged" their numbers. I have heard from a couple people (including Corporal Dan) that the 350Z is factory overrated. I acutally wouldn't doubt that about the Z because Recently I found out that the 350Z and WRX both possess the same 0-60(5.4) and quarter mile (14.1). I could see them possibly getting the same 0-60 just because AWD tends to have an advantage at launch but I would have expected the 287hp Z to take over and leave the 227hp Impreza in the dust. And as I said before, The Impreza will suffer more driveline loss than the Z. Im not saying its a 100% true but I think its very probable. Just recently Mazda found they overrated the RX-8 and it was pushing less than the quoted 247hp. They ended up giving their customers a rebate or free oil changes...

I'm not sure if Nissan overated some figures, but in the 60's and 70's it was very common, especially for chevrolet to underate their HP. For example, the 1970 Chevelle LS6 was rated at 450hp. In actuality it was more like 500-550hp. Chevy would underate their cars to cut insurance costs.

I believe last year the Dodge SRT-4 was underrated and so was the Forester XT. RX-8 was definitely overrated and they admitted it but I am not sure on the Nissan issue. This has little relevance to what we were talking about, I just wanted to bring that up while we were on the subject

Nissan definitely overrates.

The Vq in an altima makes 240. In a 350z, it makes 287....

Otherwise identical engine with slightly different fuel/spark maps.

Do you know what the differences in the motors of a Z and a G35 are? My friend and I were having this conversation the other day and he was convinced they were two different motors.
