I upload the .gif fine by overwriting an exisiting image in OM. Shows up in Downloads on the phone no problem. Select it as my wallpaper, the image I overwrote is displayed.

Fixed. Won't work if you have the file you overwrote set as another wallpaper, ex. power off, etc at the time of upload until you change one of them afterwards.

The phone does alot of "caching". So, I always change my wall paper to default first, and then replace it, and set it.

While we are on this topic, when I upload images using the data cable and bitpim 0.7, it always says they are invalid. I tried both .png's, .jpegs, and .gifs. Anyone else run into this problem? Any solutions? Thanks.

Where does it say they are invalid? You "overwrite" existing images when you upload correct?

Posted by: KPT

Yeah I overwrote them, but when I go to select one of them as my wallpaper, it says :

"This file is invalid. Erase this file?"

Did you use .gifs or .gif?

Used .gif, .jpeg, and .png, none work....they all show up fine on the computer, but the phone says they are invalid when selected as wallpaper.
