Nokia 6200, sending tones via multimedia messages

I am unable to send ringtones thru a multimedia message on my 6200, the option to insert them is not present in either the gallery or in options under multimedia messages. My wifes 3200 does have the option.

are all 6200s like this or do i have a b0rked phone?

I just got a 6200 and I can't seem to find that option either...is there a new update on software that can fix this????

I have yet to find an answer.

I did submit a question to nokia, they suggested that I ask my service provider if they support sending tones via a 6200. I haven't asked my provider yet but I'm inclined to say they do support sending tones since my wifes 3200 sends them with no trouble.

I'm still not sure if this problem is simply a limitation of 6200s or a bug in certain 6200 firmwares. I'm on v3.10 currently.

As you've mentioned that your wife is able to send tones its definately not a service provides problem. I dont think there is a firmware problem or anything. I use a 6220 and i am able to send tones from my phone without any problem. Guess 6200 does not support sending tones via multimedia or otherways.

It's quite simple really. 6200 users do not send tones via MMS from the phone. You can RECEIVE tones via MMS, and of course WAP.

I'm not sure why you asked this question, as you may have a specialized interest. But if you want tones, transferred for free, start up a WAP server and host your tones on it. Then hit it up with any WAP phone.

I assume you wanted to send tones via MMS to a friend or something, in which case you're pretty much out of luck, besides maybe IR link?? Don't know much about IR.

I also have that problem with my nokia 6200. It's not about the service provider. However, the manual do states that the phone can send tones through MMS.

Try using a different format of the audio. Like, my 6220 can send .mid, and .amr. Those are the only ones i have tried anyways. I dont know why, but right now, i tried pressing the Call button on a ringing tone, on one of them it said added to msg, and when i kept trying onanother .amr it wouldnt let me. And right now my phone just shut off, wtf?
