Not getting an updated PRL

Hey... I seem to not be recieving an updated PRL id for my 8900. I dial *228 and opt 2, then it tells me that the PRL download was ok, and that it was successfully installed; then it shuts down the phone. When it starts back up again I check the id number and I get this page info:

PRL ID : 42034
ERI Verision : 50018

What's up?

How long ago did you get your phone? I got mine on 1/19. It had a few 'glitches' in it and I took it to verizon together with my wife's phone. They said they had to HARDWIRE in a firmware release (patch). Since then my phone has worked perfectly (except the speakerphone is crap). My wife's phone was replaced a week after the 'upgrade' because it kept getting major hardware errors to the point her phonebook could not be saved when they gave her another 8900.

So, I guess the real answer might be 1) seeing if VZ can hard wire new firmware or 2) get a new phone.

I am sending them email about every 3-5 days telling them that my 8900 is terrible as a speakerphone and that is the reason I bought it - hoping that when the 8910 9900 or whatever the upgrade will be called is released, I will be able to swap out at no charge.

FunkMonk -

BTW - how did you get your side sig to have that language. Mine says what's a cell phone or something like that - but I cant figure out how to change it to something else.

I am hopefully going to go the my local VZW kiosk soon. Hopefully they can fix that and other things. As to the side-sig... it depends on how many posts you have. It does it automatically.
