Audiovox Warranty Repair ?

Would appreciate any info on Audiovox warranty repairs. How long of a wait to get phone back? Do they repair phone sent in or send back a new or refurb? Do phones come back unrepaired or poorly repaired? Reason I ask is that I'm looking at a 8900 at US Cellular. The sales person told me they try to steer people away from Audiovox because of very poor warranty service. I'm confused, any 1st hand info in this issue ?
