CDM8900 external antenna adapter

I can't find any references to what other phones/models share the same type/size of external antenna adapter port as my Audiovox CDM8900. I would like to connect an external antenna with an FME female connector to my phone.
Also, I am trying to decide which antenna to go with. A directional Yagi antenna, or an omnidirectional Wilson "trucker" antenna. Is it true that you pretty much need a "line of sight" to a cell tower to use a Yagi? I've already verified with Verizon that my area is serviced with the 800MHZ band.
