I'm thinking of buying an older K7 Slider off eBay and I need to know how to do the wap trick to get free wap and bypass the stupid MTV crap. Can someone tell me how to do this?

I also need to know how old the phone has to be to be able to do the WAP trick...

Is there any way to get this to work on a USCC Slider ported over to Verizon? I input the address as shown in the thread. When I hit send I get an error back "IP address missing." What IP address should I use or is it not possible? Maybe it will work?!?!

do 111111, pw(i don't know what it is for usc) uplink, a, fill in as follows: primary AP: 208.18.146.75 Primary port: 9203 secondary IP: 208.18.146.139 secondary port: 9203 . note, press * to make dots wherever they go.

the phone nor the packaging is not different to my knowledge, only the ESN on the bottom of the box.

Look at the phone's Electronic Serial Number (ESN). If it says 06901 or 06903 then you have the browser version 1.0.0, which allows you to access free WAP. The updated phones have browser version 1.0.10.

Where is the ESN located on the phone?

A. On the box of the phone

B. Under the battery printed on sticker attached to the phone

No, just an ESN with a prefix of 06901 or 06903 (as far as I'm aware of).

Oh that's right. 06901. That's what I have. I don't know where i got the 09801 from.

Hello Everyone, I am having problem using the WAP. Everytime I try to access yahoo.com I get a msg saying:

"Security is not enabled. Enabling security can take several minutes. Proceed?" And when I say YES it goes on for couple of minutes and then I get a msg saying "Data Server not available."

I am using this phone on VZW. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong. The phone has ESN # that start with 06901 and the SW V.1.0.0.

Phoneboy, that is what I am saying. I have http://wap.yahoo.com in my contact and I highlight it from there and then press the dial from there and first Hi There pops up and then the msg. You have to access virginxtras first before you can use free wap. The security will work there.

VMvirginmobile thanks for the reply. I just did that and still no go. I even turn the phone off and then turn it back on and gt the same msg. I know it should not be this hard but I am sure there is something I am missing here and it is something monor but dont know what I am missing.

There is no known method of using WAP on the Verizon Wireless network to my knowledge. I guess I misinterpreted your question

. I'm not sure if you can even use the free WAP exploit on Verizon. Did you purchase a flawed VM Slider and assume it would allow for free WAP on the Verizon Wireless Network?

Yes that was one of the reason why I purchased this phone but I like the phone a lot and the good thing about it I didnt have to pay full retail price from VZW and no contract extension. But I know some people are already using the free WAP on VZW and will post the info as soon as I get this phone going.

okay, how do you set up the wap? i read in another thread that you go into the 111111 menu and then go to the browser set-up. but once im there it asks me for a security code. i've tried 000000, 868666, 111111, 123456, 654321. do i have to do something else? perhaps im missing a step.

It probably was one of my threads. I thought if you changed the network gateway and did some other fancy things, then you could get WAP. I have the compatible ESN, but my phone just looks pretty when I hit the send key and makes a little bleep noise when i do it.

Im looking at the back of my cell fone the kyocera se47 slider and removed the battery but do not see anything that says ESN i do see a D: where it starts as 0671. Is this the right area?

in the browser setup menu (press 111111 then options) you have the port as 9203 instead of 9201. 9203 is for secure connections and you need ot have a key for it...try changin it to 9201 and see...thats the unsecure connection but your carrier may not support it

metro's code should be 587846 but that may not work. if you're UP LINK A has been locked you can unlock it with a few tricks, both requiring a data cable and some additional sw.
a)using bitpim, get nvm.security off your phone's file directory. save it to your comp and open it in notepad. that should have ll the codes you need.
b)using the Kyocera PST or Qualcomm PST (Phone Support Toolkit) you can edit the setting which locks the browser uplink a menu. but then again you will need your SPC code from your nvm.security file.
