Animated GIF, silly me

Any ideas what the CDM8900 phone will accept as animated pictures? I used Verizon pix place to send an animated GIF to myself, and was expecting to save it to the media gallery under 'animations'. The phone recevied it, and displayed the first frame. But it never animated.
Since there is a category for it under media gallery there simply must be *something* it is looking for. Come to think of it, the start up (and shutdown) logo has an animated Verizon word flying across it. What the trick?

I tried that too and had the same problem. You have to send the GIF from an external mail source to <phone number>@vzwpix.com and not through the vzwpix.com web site itself. If you want one of those particular GIFs, just save them to your computer and e-mail them to the e-mail address.

I have a few different animated gifs.
What is the optimal gif that will display smoothly on the 8900?
Specs anyone?

Perfect!!! That worked perfect, and was exactly what I did wrong. I had this odd thought that pixplace might resize my stuff to an optimal size, but never considered that it might also strip the animation. Thanks!
