Has anyone came across any good covers for their 8900? Post them here please.

Just from the looks of the phone, I wasn't sure if there were going to be any interchangeable faceplates. I didn't see that option in any of the ads got the phone.

I was at one of those little stands at the mall (cell phone covers, flashing antennas, etc), and the guy said that no body sells them for the Audiovox 8900. I have been looking, no luck. He might be wrong, but I doubt it.

After looking at the front of my 8900 very closely, I don't think it can take a replacement faceplate, which sucks, because that's one part of my v60i that I'll miss.... but oh well.
As far as a leather case for it, I got mine at a Wireless Zone... after Verizon was sold out, Circuit City had no clue what I was talking about, Radioshack was not helpful (which sucks becuase I actually like their cases). Anyway, it's two pieces, the bottom with clear plastic across the keypad, and leather backing, with a small strap that wraps around the antenna to keep it on (it buttons closed), and then the top part which is a leather top cover, with plastic over the screen. A window is cut out of the front. This has a little strap that connects to the back of the base.
I'll try to take a pic to show if you want... peace!

If you would take a pix that would be cool. I wanna check it out i saw that cover but wasnt sure if i liked the look. About the interchageable faceplate issue.......... i dont think it can be done either. I'm just loking for a cover though. If anyone finds a body glove cover for it post it here, that would be sweet.

I used the leather case for my 8900 for a few weeks... until it (or I) broke the phone. The cover for the flip part extends a little bit further than the keypad. Every once in a while the filp would get caught on something.... a jacket, sweatshirt, chair, etc. It eventually stressed my phone enough that it broke the connection between the keypad and the flip. The Case also does not allow the phone to close completely because you have two thin pieces of plastic sitting between the two halves.

Hey guys I am new to this forum, but I have noticed that there is another thread that has found 8900 faceplates - they even listed the website (including flashing batteries) - so you might do a search 8900 faceplates in this forum
As for the leather cases - Audiovox has a leather case model LB8900 - and it has been great - fits nice and looks nice - helps protect at the same time -
Hope that this was some help
