I just got my DIC-1100 cable from ebay today, however I can't get it to work with my CDM-8600?
Is there something that must be done on the phone or computer to get them to work together?
The phone won't even respond to AT commands from Hyperterminal.
Please help.
I'm running WindowsXP.

UPDATE.
Ok, I managed to use BitPIM to access the filesystem of the phone, and even managed to transfer some ringers and images to the phone.
I then used VOXINDEXEDITOR 2.1 to modify the ringer and image index files to list the newly uploaded files.
This all worked. Ringers and images are available within my phone!
However, I'm still unable to access the phone through HyperTerminal. I can't send any AT commands to it.
- I set the portspeed within DeviceManager to 115200, 8N1, Hardware flow control.
- I also set the phone to 115200.
Still no go.
Can anyone guide me so that I can use the phone as a modem?
FYI: I'm on the BellMobility Network.
Thanks!

When you start your hyperterm connection, you'll need to ensure that the settings for that session match as well.
Aside from that, make sure you are using the right COM port. On my system its COM 2.. (I initially mucked around w/ COM 1 for the longest time :P)

Well, I got it to work, in a round-about way...
In HyperTerminal, instead of choosing STANDARD 14400 MODEM, I simply chose COM1. (The only COM port on my laptop).
I immediately was able to enter AT commands to the modem.
This got me thinking.
I created a new dialup connection, and stated that I wanted it to bring up a PRE-DIAL screen. Upon dialing the connection, the pre-dial screen shows up, I can enter AT commands, so I entered AT<ENTER>, and then pressed the CONTINUE button. This got the number dialed out and got me connected online!
However, I'm still unable to connect if I don't use the above method. In any case, atleast I'm ABLE to connect, which is the important thing. If I find a better way to do it, I'll let you all know.
Thanks.
