8100 Voicemail notification question?

Does the 8100's Voicemail notification only notify you once audibly?
Or does it keep on repeatedly reminding you w/ a tone?

I noticed that once you flip open your phone or touch a key, no audible notification is heard from again. Only the envelope icon is shown for you check vm...

That's a programmable feature. I'm not sure where I found it, but you have a choice of 1) Once only 2) continious or 3) None.

It might be one of the choices on Ring Type or Messaging.

It's choice B) I know. BUt eve if you choose that, it stops reminding you the monmnet to flip open the phone or touch a key.

If you don't retrieve immediately, & touch anything, the only the envelpe icon remains. No audible tone.

This is what I have noticed.

PLease correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. Once you open the phone or depress the button on the side it turns off the audible reminder. I think the assume that you will check your voice mail if you open up your phone or you don't want the audible reminder on after that.
