Where do I find firmware updates if/when they're released?

Where can I find these if or when they are released for a vm 4500? And have firmwares/software upgrades been released before for sanyo phones? What did they improve? I'm hoping they'll release one for the vm4500 to fix the somewhat muffled earpiece and menu functions such as the useless left softkey if you don't have r-link..
