What exactly is 3g?????????

Posted by: ImmerStark

the itu defines 3g as offering at least 144kbps data services.
for sprint 3g will be after all is said and done: a doubling of capacity, eventually peak data speeds of 4.8mbps. sprint will be spending about 3 billion dollars to get there, all other carriers will be spending 2 to 5 times as much, and it will be much longer befor other carriers have it implemented across their entire network.

it should be noted that sprint is launching the first stage of 3g this summer, which is double capacity and 153.6kbps, the rest will follow later.
