Cracking open an 8860

I wanted an 8860, but the ×××× is underpowered, so I got an 8390 and a 8860 OEM housing. Now, All of the screws are off of the 8860, but when I lift up on the bottom plate it gives tension in the top half even though the top hidden screw is gone. WTF is going on? Do I need to put more tension on it or is there a hidden tab or something? Thanks for any help you can give me, and this might also be the same on other 82/83xx too.
