Cannot find downloaded ringtones and wallpapers.

I've followed the normal proceedure for downloading ringtones, but when the download is complete, and the button play comes up, the file hasn't really saved to the phone! It might have, and I cant find it, but I've searched Sounds, Images, everywhere!

Where have they gone?

Complimentary question: When you browse to websites do images load? I haven't gotten around to testing that yet.

By the way my 8900 is from Telus if that matters.

yikes....did you make sure to save them to Media (click on menu and theoption should be there)? thats about the extent of downloading ringtones that im aware. I can help you out when it comes to text messaging them to your phone but that can be costly.

As for the complimentary question: ya know, thats a good question. Im using the 8900 on verizon and im a bit upset about the fact that my phone really only shows really small black and white btmp's which really sucks. Im not sure if its the same for you, but as for what ive been able to see, when I made my own wap site the only pic that showed was black and white crap.

write back with more info on the ringtones thing and we'll get to the bottom of this. give me the site and what shows up on your menu options and ill give it a shot, see if we get the same effect.

Just a quick note, Raykjavik. Telus phone's menu/browser settings are quite different from the Verizon 8900. Kinda sucks. I think Telus allows you to go to websites to hear midis, not Verizon. VZW sucks.

oh i know, im aware, thats why i said to write back with what shows up on his menu screen as well. if its the same then we can work through it, if its different then...well, havent thought of that yet, but with all the people on this forum if we know what options he does have we can figure something out, or like most of the time, admit defeat and curse this ×××× phone.

Ok, I've figured out why I couldn't see my downloaded ringtones, but now I'm facing something else...

How do I make them my ringtone? Their in another folder and there are no options to make it my ringtone.

Can anyone help this guy out? I dont have a Telus phone so I cant really tell him for sure what to do.

the fact is YOU cannot use them as ringtones etc. their saved in that stupid "soundclips" folder. where the only good you can do is sendem along with MMS msgs. my suggestion just get the datacable. dontwaste your time trying to download ringtones off the net (outside of telus) it justwont work.
