Speakerphone 8900 - too quiet - but why is the sign on/off music so loud?

Does any 'hacker' know what we can do to make the speakerphone louder on the 8900?

Seems to me that the VZW sign on & off music (turning phone on/off) is pretty loud. If the speaker can handle that volume is there a way to increase the volume on the speaker for voice.

Yes, I know that there is a volume slider from 1-5. I am looking/asking about something that will make the sound louder than the current 5 setting without distorting the voice.

The ringtones are pretty loud. Why not the voice from the speaker??

Any thoughts???

im saying when it startsup though for telus users does it have any sound because mine doesnt, and if its supposed to how do you turn it on?

If you spent a few minutes you'd notice that the Verizon login is the same volume as the speakerphone.

The speakerphone seems not as loud because of the person who you are talking to on the other end is not talking directly into the phone or loud enough.

My speaker almost blew out because the signal was so strong by the other caller. I usually turn down the volume because the speaker is being overdriven.

I have 4 of these phones and the speakers on all of them are pretty poor. I had Nextel I90c's and I could attach them to my dashboard with velcro and speak on the speaker while driving.

Can't even hear the speaker on the8900 while driving. Too bad, I like the phone but hate the speaker.

PS: I have spent more than a few minutes with the phone. Perhaps you would like to trade phones??

sorry I sounded like a jerk..

I get so bent about some of the gripes people post on here. I had just read another one before this thread.

My bad.

No Prob - but my speakerphone is terrible

If yours is so good - ya wann trade??
I even went to VZW store to see if it was me - I was informed all the speakers on the 8900 are just not that great.

Now, if you have supersonic hearing, then we have no need to swap phones with each other

I think when you are on speaker and you close the lid the call is disconnected.

* The speaker is terrible * Otherwise I like the 8900
