That's what i was thinking. I'm starting to regret my taking apart the phone . I'll eBay it when i get a new phone . I want the housing and battery . I'll just disable the LEDs.

lmao...why do u regret taking apart your phone. taking apart my phone was probably the best thing i could have done. i got more functionality and i fixed a rattle.

Anyone ask virgin mobile how much they are gonna charge for these new extras??????

i dont kno how much $ it will cost....also it will work for all fones, because they have a lil server for the VXtras all they have to do is update stuff! i will go ahead and emaill them agian and see how long it will take.

Well, at first I was happy, but then I realized how much money the cheap ******** will charge. I'm thinkin' like $5 a game and like $1 a pic probably. Or more even. So it's great, and bad at the same time.

1st of all, we dont even know if itll come out
2nd. We dont know if itll work for the slider
3rd. Who knows how much it will cost
4th. We dont know if there will be game, or wallpaper, or screensavers or what on it

Im not saying that it WONT work, Im jus sayin, they might only have it on certain phones and not others. Ex. If they put wallpaper or something on there, then people w/ old phones like the party animal or super model couldnt download them cuz those phones dont support wallpaper. If they came Out w/ a new phone, they could use something on Virgin Extras thats not supported by The sliders software.

but the odds are the slider will be supported since it will still be one of their newest phones.

i'd also like to point out one thing...that post where the guy put up the message from VM...they just said more content. that doesn't necessarily mean what we want it to mean folks

90% of the people in the forum will buy the new phone no matter what... Someone PMEd me asking nicely about the new Virgin Mobile phone, so i'll e-mail Virgin Mobile and ask, and mention the many "friends"(wink) of mine have contacted Virgin Mobile and have received different answers about the *new* phone (camera phone, Colour rave, etc) wish me luck on getting in contact with the head honcho!

(I don't mean richard branson, but someone high up on the Virgin [mobile] Group USA )

good point. vm could make more money by forcing people to buy the new phones. now that i think about it, someone said that it would be impossible to add things like games since the slider doesn't support that type of expansion. pictures could probably still be done, but unless vm has a trick up their sleeves with the firmware, i don't think we are gettin games. virgin mobile...what a bunch of communist bas****s.

I don't think Virgin Mobile will let us upload pictures onto the Slider. If this were possible, this feature would have been released already... anyone wanting to help me with my letter to Virgin Mobile(USA) please PM me. I had an alright one, but then my computer crashed..

Now this is interesting, because I wrote to VM not long ago (before I found this forum) and asked if there was any plans to add a feature to Virgin Extras that lets us download wallpapers, like we do ringtones now. The rep replied to me the next day, saying that it "wasn't currently planned" but he would forward my request to the appropriate part of VM. I wonder what changed in a matter of a couple weeks, maybe alot of requests for download-able wallpapers.

It probably won't work for the Slider, since I assume they have EDGE disabled in their firmware. Perhaps a new revision with EDGE enabled..and the new Virgin phone will support these new services.
I wonder if this is EDGE-related stuff that has to do with the new phones... which is what I thought of earlier.

I love Tetris. The Timer, Stopwatch functions beat the crap out of my old Nokia 3390 (which I think I'll donate to charity).

Downloadable wallpapers, better ringtones (the chorus to Dynamite Hack's Boyz In The Hood), ringtone preview, and maybe even screensavers would be nice. I'd also like a ability to walk into a VMS and repatch the firmware from time to time.

Tinfoil Note: Virgin is not member of Consortium at this time, or else I'd be able to get more details. Probably cause they're mainly british, right?

The Virgin Group does have stock, just not in the USA . Virgin has everything in the Uk.

I think if there wasn't something coming, she wouldn't have said "Although

request has been noted"..sounds like they're trying to keep things "mum" until maybe they work out some kinks, but I could be wrong.

the way that vm built the firmware on the slider pretty much has them stuck on the wallpaper issue. since they deleted the main My Pictures folder, they'd have to store all the pictures under doodler, so they have a bunch of little things to work out. but i do think it is very possible for the slider to recieve wallpapers from vm, but if it's gonna happen, it's gonna be a while.

Maybe they are planning to make the new sliders with GOOD firmware where you can at least download games and wallpapers from VM. And they let people send in their Sliders and they rewrite the firmware to the new one. Oh wait, this is Virgin Mobile, what am I saying

God Iim getting really aggravated with VM, they don't give us anything in return for paying hugely overpriced charges for service and ringtones, and then they try and take away free wap on the new phones, and they rewrite the firmware on our precious Sliders so we are stuck with what they offer, just imagine if we could never get free wap. Man, it sickens me

the unlimited wap for free is for wap, you have to get a data plan to hook up your laptop
