Problems receiving a MIDI file on my VX6000

OK, I just got this phone Saturday and found you guys today. I have saved several files to my computer and tried emailing it to my phone at (my phone number)@vzwpix.com . I get a message saying that it has dumped my file, and won't let me save it, but I have done it successfully with a jpeg.

Here's the kicker though, I tried calling Verizon, and the first rep was worthless and then got shunted to a tech guy who basically said that everybody that has emailed a midi file here is a liar and that this phone doesn't support this service.

So, what's up? Even the vzwpix website said that you can upload midi files, but specifies the *.midi format rather than the *.mid that I used. Is this the rub?

OK, changed the extension to midi, still getting the

Quote:
Attachment Dropped: <pimpmidi.midi> of type: <application/octet-stream;

name="pimpmidi.midi">

What's up with that?

OK, I can get them from the vzwpix website after I "retime" them to 45 sec, but it's frustrating not to be able to email them using Outlook.

first make sure its under 30 KB

another thing that could screw it up is ur email program
make sure u put in a subject and like "ring" as the text of the email, and if that doesnt work try sending it from a free program like hotmail or yahoo mail, that worked for me when my mail client didnt work.
