I have a Toshiba t-08 camera phone. I do not have the original box as it was my wifes and was left in Japan. Dows anyone know how to find the ESN for the phone and how to enter the program sequence so that a local provider can enter their netowrk parameters.

If you mean the J-T08, then you are out of luck I'm afraid. It is a PDC phone that will not work outside of Japan.

Thanks for the reply, but what does it mean a PDC phone? I was under the impression that the phone was CDMA 1x.

Its not CDMA 1x. J-phone/Vodafone's 2G network in Japan is PDC (same as DoCoMo's), which is a technology that is not available outside of Japan.

You should be looking for an KDDI/AU handset, if you are after CDMA1x.

Have you had any success activating a Japanese handset here? Assuming that the ESN will be entered into the Telus System, what further stes have to be done, does the PRL need to be programmed?

I'm really not the guy to ask about all that. I'm in the UK, we don't have CDMA here, just GSM.
