Q1: Please correct me if I'm wrong, I've read a few responses from a few # of users on this forum saying that the X70's bluetooth connection can only work with one certain bluetooth dongle/adaptor. If I remember it right, the company of which made the bluetooth dongle/adaptor for the X70 is called "MA"
A few ppl on this forum wrote something about MA made a contract with Panasonic, so the X70 can only have connection with MA's bluetooth adaptor/dongle. X70 can't detect any other bluetooth adaptor/dongle.

Because I bought the Belkin bluetooth adaptor (Yes, many ppl said Belkin is one of the best bluetooth adaptor for its compatibility and it's reliable.) when I used to have my Z600, but now I got the X70. I'm not sure whether it work with my X70 or not? It's still brand new in my box, I never used it when I had my Z600 for a short while. If it doesn't work, I'll sell it then

Q2: I downloaded many MANY Jay Chow's ringtones from www.panasonicbox.com using my X70. Also my X70, I don't know if it's the same with all of you ppl with your X70s, It already has a folder with 37 extra wallpaper pics(animals) and about 20 or so oem/factory ringtones. But, the thing is, all of the factory ringtones/pictures AND all the ringtones I downloaded from panasonicbox were all "bared", protected!! So, I can't choose the option of transfer them to other cell phones or send them via infrared/bluetooth like my own personal photos that I took with my X70, or pics/ringtones I got from other cells which are not proctected/bared so I can have the option to use infrared/bluetooth.

I'm on FIDO, so it's like 3 cents/kb downloaded, and I downloaded like 335kb of ringtones/theme from panasonic's homepage. The ringtones and rest of other downloadable stuff are free, you just have to register and become a member there, but you gotta have your IMEI #...and some personal infos..
So costs me almost $10 for what I've downloaded from the site.
I'm so eager want to upgrade my firmware from what I've now, A19 to A30, using the X70 or X11 OEM USB data cable.

Please tell me how to back up those "bared" and "protected" files in my cell. Possibly using the USB cable will work?! I can't just use infrared/bluetooth, coz those files doesn't allow me to, I don't even have the option to other than move those files to other folders in my cell and that's it!!

Please help me out ppl, I'll be deeply appreciated if you can tell me anything about my quesitons!

Thanks for reading!!
and thanks in advance!!

Q1: I use a belkin BT adapter with x70 no problems...the MA adapter is only for using the MA BT software for sync. It will not work with the belkin adapter. You have to use IrDA or datacable with sync software.

Q2: There is no normal way to backup barred files from the mobile. Otherwise, it would not be barred. Usually, I copy the files from Panasonicbox as wav files and download them to my computer as well as the wallpapers.... for most wallpapers, I download from gd87.nicobox.net

Thanks for your quick reply!

My final question about the BT adaptor.
Like you said, the Belkin BT adaptor that we both use does work with our X70.

I'm using Windows XP

I can pair from my Belkin BT adaptor to the X70 and it does found Panasonic X70 in its list. But it can't find any information about the X70, connection fails. Also it asks me for a password to pair with the X70...and after i type the password, my X70 found the pair...so i type the same password in..and paired from my X70 to the BT adaptor...but the problem is when I select find/search using my X70, it just can't detect my BT adaptor! can't send files to the BT adaptor...however I can see the green light on the BT adaptor blinked for once when I try to send files to the BT adaptor but then my X70 shows connection fails...

Right, I did even go to configuration of the Belkin...I'm using the newest software for the BT adaptor, and it's for XP. However, when I was installing it, a window poped up telling me the software is not register with XP, but it's ok to proceed...etc...continue installing without click ok every time....so eveyrthing went ok. When i pluy in the USB BT Adaptor, it showed found new hardware looking for its driver...then I select program files/belkin/......bin....in the manual...and installed ok.

The problem is I can't save my configuration!!! You know, when I go to confiration, there's general page...2 colums of setting right? in Belkin software....version ending with something......16.
I type in my name...in the general page....and next setting...checked allow it for other BT device to search...etc....etc...and i click ok.....saved...but when i opened the confiration again, nothing was saved......?!?!?!

I don't know if this is the problem that's making my X70 can't detect my BT adaptor...

right I follow the X70 manual and the BT adaptor belkin's manual....just can't actually send files btw them or get infos btw them...I can only pair them up by using my BT adaptor....type in password...then type in password again on my X70...paired...but can't do nothing....when I click select...or search...or find.....on the X70 or BT adaptor nothing works...keeps failing...

Can you please how exactly you set up your X70 with your BT?

Thank You VERY VERY much,

pretty much followed what you did but I do not have a problem with the drivers needing to be loaded everytime. I suspect the problem is that the software is not installing correctly. I installed mine on WinXP Home without a problem. When pairing, I only had to do it once (and then again after reflash). I think you should get your Belkin installation stable first.

You're right, the problem comes from the installation of the software for the BT adaptor. I tried many methods, but I just couldn't get my configuration to save and turn on the allow other BT device to search.

Finally, I reinstall my windows XP, and everything works GREAT now smooth connection.

However, I've no idea how to send files from the computer to my X70...I can send files from my X70 to the Belkin BT adaptor...and the files I sent through are all saved in opps under the bluetooth folder.

Any idea how to send files from PC to my X70 and how do I change my directory for my files to save elsewhere when I transfer files from my X70 to my PC.

Thanks in advance

I have not tried to change the folder that the files are saved to on the computer. To send from the computer to the x70, you have to go on the x70 to the connections menu, then select receive file and then send from the computer.

Too bad, I still can't find a way to "send from the computer to the X70"
I tried opening receive files under bluetooth selection in my X70 and it was waiting for receiving files, no response.
I right click the file that I want to send from my computer to my X70, and select send -> bluetooth -> other...it shows searching for BT device...

Please direct me a way specifically of how you do send the files from the comp to the X70

much appreciated,

Nevermind, I finally got it!
hehe,
X70:
1. Turn on the Send/Receive file transfer under Bluetooth

PC:
2. click on my bluetooth place
3. click the Panasonic X70 paired
4. Search for its services
5. the "inbox" will appear
6. drag and drop the files you wanna transfer...

now I have ALL...yes ALL of the wallpapers....in all categories from panasonicbox.

haha

I followed the steps above and the inbox just didn't appear. Looks like I just got a crappy BT adaptor/software

Wow, I made it work.

If the above doesn't work for you, this is how I did it...

X70:
1. Turn on the Send/Receive file transfer under Bluetooth

PC:
2. Right-click the file you want to send.
3. Click "Send To" -> Bluetooth -> "My X70"
(the first time I did this it wasn't there and I had to select other, then "search for devices" even though it was already paired - make sure your X70 is still trying to receive data)

X70
4: Accept incoming file on your phone

Posted by: sferson

To clarify point 1:

X70:
1. From the menu select Organiser -> Connectivity -> Receive Object

Posted by: OmniLove20

OMG
You're right!
that's much faster and easier to send files from PC to my X70
haha, I think the steps you took should be the correct and easier way to do bluetooth transfer. You just made my way look dumb..lol

Congrats man!
