hi all,

i just got my sx1 which i bought from ebay .. it's brand new, and seems to be originally t-mobiles version .. there isn't any simlock on it .. but,

i started thinking is it even possible to update my software ? because i was downloading the new software from my-siemens.com and i noticed this:

"... only the same version can be updated into your phone. "

according to this, i can't just upgrade for example this SX1_NODIC-NDK-RETAIL-uk-dk-no version, because i currently have some t-mobiles own version, "SX1_TMOD-uk-de-nl_05_0003" software on my phone ..

anyone knows how this upgrading could be done ? can my local siemens service do it ?

thanks in advance,

-thomas

Your local Siemens dealer should do this. The reason for your Problem is the T-Mobile branding. After a successful update the branding is gone. The newest Firmware at the Moment is SW07. It is much more stable and faster then the older Versions...

thanks mate,

i'm just afraid that something goes wrong .. because i heard that some people with t-mobile branded sx1's have killed their phones by upgrading them .. but if something goes wrong, is it my local dealers fault ? .. so nothing to worry then ?

Right your dealer has to order a new phone if he has broken it. thats the difference to various illegal updates in the web. If you uses them and something goes wrong it was your own risk.
