I had a configuration error of wrong phone type. should have been 6000.
Now with the correct phone type, I can upload the wallpaper as long as there are no pictures in the gallery. If there are pix in the gallery on the phone I get the following errors
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

Are you getting the phone data before you try to send the new data?
Also, did you remember to delete the old data directory from the previous version of BitPim before installing the new version, as instructed on BitPim website?
In fact, since you tried this with the wrong phone model, you may have created a bad data directory. You might want to delete the current data directory and start over again with the correct model selected from the beginning.

Hi,
I have not tried to send anything to the phone. I've only tried to upload the single picture I have in the gallery which was snapped using the phone

Deleted the old phone directory and I uninstalled the software and started from scratch to avoid just such an issue

I believe you have to get the phone data before you can upload new pix to the directory -- even before you try to send anything.

Sorry I'm a little confused.
The only commands I've executed in bitpim are "getphonedata" commands.
I can get the phone book just fine.
I can also get the wallpaper provided that I do NOT have any pictures in the gallery. Otherwise I get the error above.
If I upload the wallpaper, then take a picture with the phone, then try to "getphonedata" again, I get the same error.

Sorry, but you've done everything I would suggest. I'm out of ideas, but perhaps someone else can help.
Good luck. Please post the solution when you find it.

Wadda ya know,
doing a "sendphonedata" of the wallpaper I got by first doing a "getphonedata" seems to occasionally allow "getphonedata" with photos to work.
