looks like it gots its design from the ipod. but its pretty sweet with good specs. we'll see if this is real or not.

Hmm, those specs look similar too the rumoured P1000 ones and I bet it uses the new UIQ3.0/Symbian OS 8.0.

I might be tempted if it does most of what my P900 can. Then again i've got attached to touch screen.

it is only a computer generated pictures... i guess we are far from having the real stuff

interest is that, the white model has a T610 style interface, while the black model has the UIQ style interface.. which way are they doing? or is it a 2-in-1?

my cingular line is disconnected right now. you have no idea how pissed i am. its disconnected due to a billing error in the system. i work for the ×××× company yet they shut the phone off due to an error that they rightfully admit to. blah. that among other things have me in a bad mood. thank god i have tomorrow off. ill probably go to my gf's for the next two days and have a few drinks

but back on track, like i stated in my thread. i call bluff on this phone. it just doesnt seem realistic to me. plus, having a swivel touch screen doesnt seem practical. when you press on the screen anywhere on the side with the stylus, the ×××× thing is going to move. i would find that extremely annoying. im sure this was just someones imagination running wild.

Whether it's a hoax or not, it certainly seems like a beautiful, and logical evolution of a SE phone. It takes the Sony Clie clamshell form factor to the next step. So, if it is a Photoshop, SE development should eyeball this bad boy. It makes "SEnse"

I agree with Jeffharris. It is A logical evolutionbut not the evolution. I doubt that SonyEricsson will go that way. It is simply too large to be a practical phone.

It's not that large. If you think about it, that phone, closed, is only the size of the P900 screen, plus a small frame around the screen, making it smaller than the P900. The only large form it would take, is if you were talking on it like a clamshell, then you are talking about the P900 screen x 2.

Again, all reamins to be seen, but I would not be dissappointed with this. The only downside is there would be no hard phone buttons, which is a nice thing, if you consider your Smartphone a phone first, and a PDA second, like I do.

Hey Jeff, your absolutely right... the Z 1020 is a lot smaller than the Clie!

Clie dimensions
-Width: 2.88 inches
-Height: 5.5 inches
-Depth: 0.69 inches

Z 1020 dimensions
- Width 55mm = 2.167 inches
- Height 85mm = 3.349 inches
--Depth 20mm = .788 inches

I’ve gone ahead and cut a piece of African Rosewood to the dimensions to give a better "3D" perception of just how small this thing is... it's just slightly smaller than a deck of cards...

Do you recall when I posted about my Wooden Moto V3620 Model that I created (I posted that about a year and a half ago I think but actually made the model some 7 yrs ago... just before the real thing became available). It’s fully articulated in that the cover opens and closes just like the real thing. Here’s a pic of the Z 1020 block next to the V3620 model... I'll give you one guess what I’m intending on doing next to that block?

The V3620 is a very small phone and this also gives you an idea of how small the Z1020 will be.

BTW can you tell I just

to work with my hands in exotic hard wood. hehe

I present my "one of a kind" 3D version of the Hoax. “SE Z1020”... at least it will be immortalized in wood not just photoshop! lol :laughs:

I really had a great time making this model and FYI both hinges are fully functional and I can simulate all the movements of what the real thing would be .When I made the Moto V3620 Model I knew it was going to be a reality in the very near future... to bad the Z1020 is only a dream!

Seriously though.......the Z1020 looks wicked...and it gives us a good size comparison to the P900. Perhaps wood will be the new luxury style of phone as found in cars eh? Forget the aluminum T610, the classy version with wood trim will be out soon...

Man....how I love HoFo...wooden phones that blink and have pimp'n sticks to show off...you guys are all quite awesome!
