Kyocera phones are carried by TELUS Mobility, Bell Mobility, Verizon, and Sprint PCS to name the big ones. Many other smaller carriers also offer Kyocera products.

Qualcomm's phone unit was never exploited to its full potential which is why they sold it to Kyocera (of Kyoto). They have been revamping the product line and have some interesting models coming down the line now including the just announced 7135 smart phone.

the kyocera phones may not be the most attractive, but they are solid performers and are very reasonably priced.

I always wondered what happened to Qualcomm...I've always thought of them as a good phone manufacturer.

Also Virgin Mobile (a virtual prepaid-only carrier in the US that piggybacks on Sprint's network) carries only Kyocera phones (for now, anyway).

They offer only two phones: the Kyocera 2119 and 2255. FYI, if you have a Sprint phone (even if it's the 2255) Virgin Mobile won't let you activate it with them. They say it's because they use custom firmware.

The 2119 (left) and 2255 (right):
