is this phone worth it? i am thinking of getting one in a trade... it will be my first smart phone that i will own, how is the phone overall? any reception or crash issues??

how much is the phone worth?
should i get this phone or the 6600?

it can play mp3 and dvd movies right?

sorry if this is a bit noobish, we all gotta start somewhere right?

* the phone is freakin amazing, if not a little bulky
* not sure how much they're going for right now, but they're dirt cheap and offer really good value
* i've had the 3650, 6600, p800, and p900... the 6600 is definitely a newer phone, but i'd take the p800 (but that's just me)
* plays mp3, but not for ringtones (though you can use wav); it plays mp4 for video (you can rip a dvd, then convert to mp4), which is lightyears ahead of series 60 3gp format (but then the 6600 is 65K colours vs the p800's 4096)
* yeah, you are a newb j/k

Oh yeah...get a P800. I love it. rex-star is right, they're going dirt cheap nowadays.

Loading apps on it is the fun part. I don't really have a lot of problems with it, and yes it's a tad bulky, but it's become indispensable to me. It hasn't replaced my Clie organizer completely, but it does help me remember things when I'm on the go.

rex-star, you'd pick a P800 over a P900? I wanna move up to a P900 but maybe next year, when they're as cheap as the P800s nowadays.

p900 > p800 anyday... but pricewise it's tough: again, p800s offer incredible value right now

however, oddly enough, i had a hell of a time giving away my p800... four different friends ended up giving it back to me because it was too big or too complicated (they're not exactly phone guys: one guy went back to his 3390)... i ended up selling it to someone for $200 cdn

Wow...

Well, if you find yourself in that predicament all over again with your P900, give me a shout, will ya?

go w/ P900
it's worth the buck

p800, more value for yourmoney...butif you have the extra dough, get the p900

i always feel that getting a 6600 (although newer) instead of a p800 is a downgrade, but that's just me

yeah

i am a newb to smartphones, but not to "normal" phones cuz ive never owned one before...

i do want a p900, its nicer but man its pricey... $900-1000 cdn

if i did sell all my phones i could probably get one... i guess ill play around w a p800 to see if i like it first =)

I impulse-bought my P800 (well the new contract at least, the phone was free) just after the P900 came out, and I half expected to be regretting it by now, but really I'm not. The P900 is a fantastic phone, don't get me wrong, but the P8 is so close to it in features (and so much cheaper) there's nothing to be jealous about.

You'll have a lot of fun with a P8, especially if you spend a little of the money you've saved on a bigger memory stick and extra software (Camcoder and Handyday are my top tips).

6600 - I finally played around with one the other day, and what can I say. It sucks! Stupid shape, very poor keypad layout (too easy to knock the end call button), and a screen you can't even write on. What's the point?

cool thanks for the input =)

so those programs cost money to buy? they aren't free?

The P800 is my first smartphone. I bought it second hand not so long ago for £180.

It was definetly worth it. I think the phone is amazing. Being able to listen to music/watch movies on the go is great.

Not only that, but I don't know how I lived without using a tasks option to give me reminders.

In my opinion this phone is easily worth its money and if you can get it, I would jump on the oppertunity.

join yahoogroups.... go to www.yahoogroups.com and search for p900 or p800 groups, there should be lots of apps for "free."
