hi all, a short while ago i purchased a nokia 6600, and since have bought a bluetooth usb adaptor, so i can transfer songs, games etc to and from my computer...
in addition to this, i have also purchased a new 256mb mmc card to go with it...
i have a problem though...i cant seem to make it so that if i download somthing to my phone, that is more than the memory i have in my phone (not mmc card) then it doesnt let me...it wont seem to automatically load to my mmc, instead it just says that the memory is full...this is highly annoying, as i have just spent a lot of money on the mmc card!...can anyone please tell me how to make it so that the download that i send to my phone automatically goes onto the mmc memory, so this problem is eliminated?...please help, it would be much appreciated!

are you using the PC suite to transfer the files from your PC to your phone via bluetooth? if you are, make sure that the destination is into the mmc card because the default destination is the phone memory NOT mmc!

hope that helps

im not using the pc suite...do i download that from the nokia site?...all i tend to do when transferring files over is justright click on it, then press send to - bluetooth...that works for most things...

does the pc suite come with the phone or do i need to download it?

thanks

Download it from here:

http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,42289,00.html

And also be sure to check the Series 60 Forum since the 6600 is a S60 phone and thus most of the 6600 users post in there:

It sounds like PC Suite is not recognizing your BT adapter. Did the drivers install correctly? Have a look in the Control Panel and see if there are any hardware conflicts with your BT adapter. That's the only thing I could think of.

Good Luck.

Let me know if the following helps. Make sure your phone is using the MMC to store messages.

Goto messages, then select options then select settings. Select other settings and make sure messages are stored to MMC memory.

When sending files directly by IR or bluetooth without the PC suite program the files will arrive on the inbox of the messages menu on the phone. If the memory for the messages is stored on the phone memory and the file is too large you will get a message like file too large to perform operation or something like that.
