mode banner removal

I was able to remove the Verizon Wireless banner that got in the way of my pic on my 4400, but is there a way I can do the same with the banner on the lower part that says "Manner Mode" or "Silence All" when it's in those modes? Cause it kinda gets in the way as well, and I can tell if its in any of those modes by the icon on the top anyways, so removing it would be ideal for when I have to have my phone in the silent modes. So any help would be great. Thanks.
