SL56 right side dying

Whoohoo my first post.
I just recently got a Siemens SL56 from Bestbuy.
Unforunately, I had the phone for 34 days and past the 30 days limit. The right side of the LCD display is starting to dim. I tried to take the phone back to Best Buy but they will not accept since I did not buy their 2 years stupid warranty. I never kept a phone for more than a year.
I was wondering which way to resolve my current situation. Contact AT&T for replacement even though I got the phone from BB or contact Siemens for replacement. Thank you for all your response and look for to hearing from the forum.

Do you have wireless phone insurance (monthly payment)? If so take it to an ATT wireless store and show them. They'll try and fix it, won't be successful, then give you a brand new SL56 (Cingular has a $50 deductible and the option of getting a brand new SL56 or a list of about 3 other phones). If you don't have insurance.....I guess call Siemens because ATT will probably say "Should have bought phone insurance. Can't help you now....." blah blah blah.

Also, if you have the option of getting another phone that you like, I suggest you do that. I had the SL56 for about 6 months until today when I bought the Motorola V400. I'll tell you right now, the V400 is about a thousand times better than the SL56. I hated that phone, the buttons will stop working, the reception sucks, no call time display, no call time for dialed calls, and countless other annoying things. Oh, screen sucks.

Maybe it was just my phone, and maybe you'll like yours more than I did. But that's just my opinion.........

I think all AT&T phones come with a one year warranty through AT&T. Call them first.

No insurance from AT&T either. Well, I have never drop a cell phone before. I let my friend borrow mine, and as you will guess he drops it. Couple of scratches on the back but the dimming right part is now fixed.
I have to agree that SL56 does not feel like a sturdy phone. I'm hoping for a Motorola V600 upgrade. Thanks for the response. I'm glad I don't have to deal with neither AT&T nor Siemens.
