Is there any way to change the A56 clock screensaver? Because my dad finds it hard to read. If I flash the phone with C56 firmware, is the screensaver any better?

Thanks in advance!

Menu>Setup>Display>Screensaver .... Then enable or style (then choose clock or animation, any animation loaded on the phone)... pretty simple. Though it won't be a digital clock or anything,, unless there is one out there than you can download.

The A56 and C56 both have the same clock as screensaver if you don't choose another animation. Both of them are just as hard to read. I've tried patching the firmware using Siemens Picture Changer 2 and changed the background of the clock, but on reboot the phone just didn't want to continue on. So, it was back to the original firmware again.

In short, if you want a better clock, sorry, there's no choice. Alternatively you can just disable the screensaver and have your normal standby screen. At least you'll see the digital clock there.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly the answer I was looking for!

Sorry, one more question.. do you need the serial data cable for the picture changer software (I read this on another forum)?

Yes, of course you do... it's the same cable for data suite, unlocking, flashing, pic changer... good thing you don't have to buy another cable!

However, please be forewarned that if you screwed up the patching of the firmware, you better know of some recovery methods, otherwise you'll have a A56-shaped paperweight. When I botched the patch, the phone would power on, make a flatulent noise and say "Wrong Software", then turn itself off.

So in the end, I stopped the pursuit of vanity and just kept the clock stock.
