Using home internet on a phone??

Has anyone tried this?

I have a siemens M55 and a data cable for it, and I was wondering if its possible to have the PHONE use the internet that the COMPUTER uses. I am not saying I want the phone to act as a GPRS modem for the computer, I'm saying I want the computer to be able to provide WAP to the phone.

The reason I want to do this is when I'm playing a game or watching a video on my computer (which takes up the whole screen), I can use my phone to use a service for MSN messenger and if I get a message I can just see it on the phone without having to close the game / video.

So, does anyone know if this is possible?

I know its possible on a Nokia 6600 which can use the internet from a PC via Bluetooth. I dont know how to do it, but my friend said that he has done this and its pretty cool.

im pretty sure it can't be done with any pre-existing software.

i don't know the answer, but here is an alternative:
go on the f2f plan or get a text messaging option...
and use icq instead...

a much better idea is to do what I do: buy a cheap PCI video card and another monitor, and run dual screens. that way you can put all your IM windows on the second monitor. it works great.
