I tried 1 ringtones with several different saved audio MP3 settings and could get down to 20Kbps with 16khz. This played okay on the VX-4500 (it was part of the seinfeld
sounds used on the show).

When I tried lower KBPS it would not play at least with this MP3.

This cut the 20 second mp3 (renamed as mid) file size down from 121k to 33k. The original 121k file was saved with a rate of about 56kbps and 22khz.

I tried this due to maxxing out all of the memory with 32 ringtones of mid and mostly MP3 (renamed as MID) files.
