Why did Sharp miss out MP3 ringtones on the gx30?

Went back to my sharp gx20 yesterday because now my SECOND v600 is broken (replaced this morning at some point).

Its a far better phone picture-wise.

I doubt i can use my v600 any more, the screen and camera quality is embarressing. Showed my dad the both them last night, he thought v600 was black and white

So i am looking at the gx30.

No mp3 ringtones. In one sweep it has removed my interest.

Why leave such a simple thing to put into the thing? Its on sagems these days FFS.

BIG mistake by sharp i feel

I read elsewhere tho that its an mp3 player, so surely there must be SOME way of integrating mp3 ringtones?

If so im gonna be down there today for one

I would try mate but the phone refuses to let me put ANYTHING over 100k onto it

So torn between keeping this or my v600... both have the pluses mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm v600 is winning i think

ok i cut a song using goldwave like i have for various mp3s for my v600 ringtones, work a charm. Made tiny sized wavs.

Doesnt work mate - its the same as GX series in past - illegal data.

Anyone wanna buy a gx30? Putting on ebay just now...

Can't it read tones from the sdcard? or do you need a card reader cuz you can find small wavfiles or i can send you one pm me with your address

i want one!!! sent you a pm

PMd u mate, email me with ur reply..

I tested wavs' on it, they dont work. illegal software crap like all the gx series.

Im keeping my v600. I worked out my contract cost for a year and the cost of buying it in the first place, its costing me like 325 quid for the first year

Unless i get 400 quid for the gx30 im taking it back, dont think it will go for that so im not even gonna bother with ebay. just taking it back saturday to the shop as they told me over the phone im entitled to for 14 days

i think i'll pass for now thanks..

has anybody tried an mmf ringer??? like the samsungs?

If u convert mp3/wav to midi format then put them on the sd card which can then be transfered to the phone memory. This should work but I have not tried it yet.

I dont have a card reader yet!!!!.
